The spirit ball was yamcha' s special move and it will be a heck of a lot more useful than krillin or tien's specials. The tribeam and destructo disc are lethal moves that could disqualify you from the tournament. The spirit ball can hit multiple targets never misses, and conserves energy. It might not give him the power to hit above his pay grade like the other two, but it could give the team great battlefield control.
"Lol. Yamcha is weak, a magikarp could beat him". We all know this a stupid meme. Yamcha was never weak. Even bulma and puar tell us that he just has horrendous luck. He lost to Roshi. So did goku. He lost to tien. So did goku. He lost to literally God(who then said that yamcha could easily surpass him if he kept up his training). The siabaman beat him. Yamcha did just as well against the siabaman as tien. When tien failed to kill his, vegeta did because it no longer served it's purpose. When vegeta saw yamcha's was still kicking he goaded him to let his guard down because vegeta is clever. "But yamcha stopped fighting after cell" . So did krillin. He needed a refresher course to get back in shape for the world tournament then gave it up completely to become a cop. Yamcha still considers himself at least the tenth strongest person on earth and he can sense energy. Granted he can't actually sense the androids so he might be eleventh, but that's still pretty good.
The other team is wolves. Come on. That's yamcha's shtick.
He also survived getting a hole punched through his chest, having all his energy drained, and the collateral damage of two gods of destruction going at it. He even fought piccolo's spawn with a broken leg. Yamcha's a lot tankier than krillin or tien when He wants to be ( he needs to be with his luck).
Yamcha ain't weak and i feel he's been highlighted too many times this arc without it eventually leading to something.

Zamasu is the best character ever to grace Dragon Ball. He has a distinct fighting style, a clear and credible motivation and is the most resourceful villain ever.

The saiyans were more powerful than earthlings, Frieza was already born powerful, Cell had to count with Vegeta's arrogance and stupidity to become perfect, Buu was stupid and powerful, Beerus was a GoD, Golden Frieza misused the breakthrough he got, Hit is an uberpowerful anomaly, while Zamasu went from being barely more powerful than a Super Saiyan to almost destroying all ningen lives in all universes.

Big shows like dbs actually have insanely high budget as they constantly need to pay off as many animators as possible from wherever they can find them so they can get their anime out on time, which is hell because there's no break between seasons and work has to be done constantly.
