After volume 9 Kodaka put on his pants and tried to actually help the girls to find their own way, Yozora life situation, Sena social skills, Yukimura weirdness and Rika needs. He befriends Rika and get to know her better, made Yozora face her problems, I'm not sure what happened with Sena but if I'm not wrong Kodaka did something to make himself look bad and Sena good in front of the school and for Yukimura he simply didn't got an idea of what to do so he simply accepted to become his girlfriend and see what happens, Maria and Kobato fixed their own problems and that's it, at the end everyone was happy except maybe Yukimura.
What i'm saying is that the only stupid thing Kodaka did after his transformation was to date Yukimura out of pity, he tried his best for everything else and actually have a change of heart(and appearance), my main point is that he's better than most MCs out there, not that he is the coolest.
