Not OP, but you actually liked IBO? First 30 episodes were awful. Boring characters, forced drama, awful action scenes and the like. Sure, McGillis and Rustal carried the last 10 or so episodes but i wouldn't call any show that needs 30-40 episodes before becoming acceptable "good".

Felt like a pointless waste of time. I don't dislike "bad" endings at all, but it felt unearned here. S1 mainly consisted of Tekkadan steamrolling every opponent they came across, then S2 is just "tekkadan loses lol", but it had no real impact because there is no reason to care. Mika was a garbage character, Orga was getting on my nerves, and the rest of them were irritating or barely tolerable. There was far too much waffling around and pointless time-wasting, especially towards the end of S1. The drama was pathetic and the fights lacked any tension because hurr mika is a godlike pilot. Every negative aspect of this series carried over into the ending. I thought I'd get some kind of satisfaction out of seeing Tekkadan getting blown the fuck out but it just felt hollow and empty, not because I cared but because so much time was fucking wasted getting there.

I recently finished 0079 and the difference between the two shows is like night and day. 0079 had tons of bullshit too, but at least it's actually interesting.
