You know, my biggest regret with the series (among the many, many, many) was that Leone never got with Tatsumi. Girls from her character archetype NEVER get with the main character (though to be fair Akame's usually DOES) and I thought they had a better dynamic than any other possible Tatsumi/*** pair.

For a series that often tried to buck the standard tropes, this was one case where I'd have preferred the main character got with the girl he met first.

But Leone never lost her belt power before, as long as the belt is working her body won't suffer critical damage. On the final confrontation her real body got damaged due to the belt malfunction and then she activated it again right before dying but this time just with a temporal "regeneration", that's why she "holded" her death to do what she wanted, like see with her own eyes what she worked so hard for becoming real, she could have choose to live like Tatsumi as an eternal kemono but she decided to "die in her own terms", she was tired and the fight was over, that's deep.
