Buu arc wasn't bad, the problem Is that it felt unecessary.

Nah, no amount of polishing will improve the turd. Everything from angles to fundamental drawing is worse in the recent shots compared to the original. There's only so much you can do with extra time/funding. It's like how some BDs look incredible and some just have lens flares and the contrast turned up, because the original work already had solid foundations.

Sometimes it really isn't nostalgia-goggles, it's just worse.
