I would have sympathy for Sakura if she hadn't continued to lust after Sasuke after he left the village and proved to be fucking crazy.

Up to that point, Sasuke was clearly a great husband target. She was just doing what any rational female would do. If she had started sucking up to Naruto earlier once it was apperent Sasuke was a crazy fuck, and Naruto's stock was rapidly rising, she probably wouldn't have lost out on the superior husband who wouldn't have made her a single mother.

Except Sasuke and Naruto were somewhat friends, and Naruto was practically alone for most of his life so it made sense for him to be obsessed about the few people who were important to him. So Naruto giving a shit about Sasuke made sense.

Naruto has a reason to give a shit about Sasuke even after Sasuke's treatment of him in the beginning of Part II, Sakura not so much.

That being said Naruto did get annoying after a while with his obsession with Sasuke to the point where it literally became the only thing wrong with his character.
