I would say the additions of the idol genre and isekai are the biggest game changers of the 10s. Not to say there weren't stuff like it before the 10s. There definitely were. The difference is the prevalence in the 10s of idol anime and games and isekai anime, manga, and light novels.

Before isekai surfaced, we had shitload of Infinite Stratos clones.
Oreimo is responsible for horrible LN titles.

I don't pay attention to idolshit, so I don't really know who's to blame here, but if I were to point my uneducated finger at something, it would be Idolmaster, with LL as the second coming.
And I believe there's also more fujoshit than before, but that's something I know absolutely nothing about.

All these are from the end of 00's though, with some adaptations from early 10's. Well, we'll see in a few years which of current series will be the trendmaker, but I have a feeling we're going to see more "ironic", "self-aware" and "X, but with twist" shows.

The real important shows are things like Knights of Sidonia, Arpeggio of Blue Steel, Expelled from Paradise being relatively successful. The shows that really kicked off full CG anime as a thing. Then Kemono Friends kicking off the cheap CG genre.
