I don't think a delay on your real-time reading of a manga should have any impact on the pacing of the story in the manga itself. Trying to adjust the pacing because of a delay of a work seems to be impractical, unrealistic and a waste of effort. I don't know whether this break was spontaneous or planned, but if I had to choose between a break after the last chapter or this I'd definitely choose this one. The cat girl's safety was shown and serves as a relief, so I think it's a good time for a break.
