Fairy Tail has been shit for a looooooong time. It showed promise early on but even then it was a shitty ripoff of One Piece

Fairy Tail makes me sad.

I love magic, I love well drawn women, and it had some neat concepts. I even really like the art style for almost all the characters, there's just something weird about it that really clicks with me, and I find their designs to all be very likable. It's really a shame to see how far FT has fallen. This series could have went eons ahead of it's current position if Mashima didn't write himself into a corner almost every fucking chapter and use plot armor heavily.

I hope his next piece of work is him in charge of illustrating and someone else is a different writer for the actual story.

Overall, Fairy Tail is one of and actually might be the worst series I've ever participated in. With incredible amounts of wasted potential, bad story telling, and only one redeeming element being the art style, I sincerely hope no one actually forces themselves to read this pile of hot ass garbage like I did. Almost from chapter 1, it immediately starts getting worse. I really hope Mashima goes into the hentai business after this. Fuck this series, fuck this hack. Worse than Kubo.

I actually had some hope in the tounament arc. I was enjoying the fights, but then some minor character slowly died in a pit of lava. I was really surprised that he actually killed someone in such a brutal way, but surprise surprise, he survived by that clock summon despite already going under the surface. I finally got that nobody would ever die, not even secondaries, killing any and all tension.

Normal magic barely harms dragons unless it's God-Tier.

So Dragon Slayer Magic was taught to humans by the dragons so they could aid in the fight against the Dragons who wanted to end humanity (Since some dragons wanted humans to live on)... The downside being that eventually you become a dragon too.

Yet the magic barely even worked in the Tournament Arc when the Dragons invaded. Or against any Dragon. Ever.

Too many good plot points rolled back over. Like Deliora being Silver and then you hear it was Silver all along? That... Should never have happened.

It had it's imbalances earlier on but at some point all caution was thrown to the wind and he began writing the manga like a serialised one-shot. Where each chapter had the same characters but barely took any past content into consideration given the rules of the world.

It's just softcore rubbish. Skin, boobs, pairings, and the wrong kind of "Plot". No substance.

I wouldn't recommend this to any one.

He just probably wouldn't make any more from "ONE MORE ARC"... So he's lazily wrapping up

It really feels like he was just done about 3-4 arcs ago but he had to stretch things out. The whole thing feels like the work of someone who doesn't want to be doing it.

The series should have ended a while ago. Not like it would have changed that much plot wise. We probably would have gotten something at least a little better, maybe.

Mashima might actually be retarded, if you choose to gauge his intelligence off his storytelling abilities, but at least he actually cared about his series. All of the characters had wonderful designs, the art style was also great(with backgrounds), and he put his all into it work-wise.
Kubo was a hack that got extremely lucky, until his luck ran dry and Jump axed him. Mashima is a good mangaka with a glaring downside, the kind of author who'll always have fans that could appreciate his works despite the poor stories.

The next 10 chapters of Fairy Tail will be spent giving each and every character a mostly-meaningful conclusion, with only pre-developed endgame relationships.

I don't know, it seems pretty final. Zeref was done in by Natsu, even after his power up, as the formula for final bosses has gone. The only reason Mashima wouldn't keep acno dead is to have the dragonslayers kill him, and I can't see natsu fighting again.

I dropped FT in the Luxus arc. After that Mashima started to copy OP, the shichibukai and it was very shitty, then he did something with the cats, very very shit, then he tried to do the timeskip ala 3D2Y and so on.... i didn't read it but from the spoilers it was obvious he didn't have any ideas left.

I hate to say this, but even though the fight itself sucked, the conflict between Zeref and Natsu packed more of an emotional punch than the one between Yhwach and Ichigo. Zeref as a villain is just more interesting than Yhwach because we knew his backstory, motivations and relations with other characters.

I'm not sure if I remember this correctly, but I believe in the final volume of RAVE he mentioned that the editor (or whoever) give him 5 chapters to conclude the story.

He got 10 chapters now, surely he can write a better ending for FT.

I liked it a lot, and much more than Fairy Tail. The last 200 chapters of FT have been a chore, Rave is readable throughout, has fewer retarded plot points, characters and events (although there's plenty) and has some really good peaks. The worldbuilding and setting are a lot more compelling and fleshed out, although it's still standard battle shounen stuff, and Haru is a much more rounded MC
