Are you hyped for Elbaf?
Yes and no I am excited for it it but at the same time I want to get to Wano and see Samurai battles.
Are you hyped for Gear 5th Monkey God Awakening vs Kaido?
Sure am! Too bad we might not see young Dorry and Broggy in action in Mama's flashback. Maybe when the Strawhats actually get there we will see more of them and the long waited reunion of the Giant Pirates
Are you talking about yourself?
since bleach and naruto wrapped up all the edgelord fucks have transferred over to one piece, and are making retarded edgenigga theories about luffy's powerups
my personal theory about g5 is something like this
>luffy compresses all the rubber in his body with haki, looks like a brain point chopper size swole manlet
>won't be able to stretch his limbs like usual gomu attacks
>but will be incredibly fast and hard to hit
>as well as being incredibly dense
>CoA will have to cover a much smaller area, so can be much stronger and more concentrated while also not being as exhausting
>luffy becomes a literal living cannonball
i honestly think this is possible, given the way oda works
>significantly distinct from other gears
>goofy, funny looking and unexpected, will surprise the fans (something he tries to do imo)
>fulfills luffy's need for a powerup that doesn't rinse through his stamina and haki
I can't beleive I'm buggyposting in mspaint
I still think we'll get an arc around it. Oda may take his sweet time developing things, but he won't skimp out on showing off a locale he's had namedropped for years now. We'll get the Elbaf flashback and then a look at it in modern times, probably after Wano and the Reverie.
You know it still is good, right? Zou and Whole Cake Island are amazing. WCI is roughly Impel Down tier so far.
Fishman Island sucked and it took Oda a while to get back on his feet after the timeskip, for whatever reason.
That's how he operates. He tries to surprise fans with the details, but the general structure of the story is predictable. That's one of the reasons why it didn't become a complete mess.
While I love most of OP flashbacks I have to admit it's the most awkward place for a flashback so far. Even more so then Drum (in the middle of a punch). And I think Oda's tendency to put them the furthest it's possible rarely really benefits the story. I think he got it the best in Alabasta when all the exposition etc. was done in day 1, so the day 2 could run smoothly.
If WCI can stick the landing after the flashback then it'll definitely be one of my favorite arcs, period. Given how much shit there is to handle in the wake of the rocket strike on Big Mom, it's a big ask, but I'm hoping it can pull it off.
If nothing else I hope we get some good fights following the flashback, Luffy's fight with Cracker was good, but left me wanting a bit more and there's so many potential, interesting choices for fights at the tea party that I'd be disappointed if we didn't get some Straw Hat 1 on 1's with allied fights mixed in.
the broad strokes of the story are somewhat cyclical, which i think is related to the overarching theme of inherited will, but the particulars often come out of fucking nowhere. like the reveal of g4, or sanji's family, or DD being a celestial dragon etc
It'd be nice if they had one or two tasks that they could all focus on doing together, as opposed to splitting up into a bunch of groups mixed with their respective allies of the arc.
The team is too big for it, I think. I'd much rather have them split int ~3 groups and showcase relationships which weren't shown at all or in a long time (like Franky/Nami for the first one or Zoro/Chopper for the second). And for sure no Nami/Sanji or Zoro/Sanji etc. in the same team.
Expand your collection dammit.
Hey, guys. I'm catching up on One Piece, haven't read it for about five years now. Should I bother catching up with the show too? I remember really enjoying it back in the good old days, with some great memories of the more powerful moments of the manga being adapted really well (Luffy VS Crocodile, Luffy VS Usopp, Luffy VS Lucci) but I also remember that it was getting real slow and not as good at adapting stuff (They adapted Marineford badly and dragged it on too long, in my opinion) and I'm afraid it's still like that
Sorry for the blog post, I guess the TL;DR is: Is the show worth watching or not?
I suppose that's true, though I would wonder if 2 groups could possibly work for some of the more Straw Hat relevant plots in Wano, such as the poneglyphs, but 3 would be the safe option to avoid it being too crowded.
As you said, there's some interactions of the main Straw Hats that haven't had much time to be explored, Franky receives the short end of that stick quite a lot as the designated ship-babysitter, which was one of the elements of Dressrosa that I loved early on, just Franky tagging along with Luffy's group and being able to direct him along.
As for some of the more common character match ups, I'd be sad to not see the ramifications of the events of WCI on Sanji's interactions with his more common interaction targets, like Nami, Luffy and Zoro. But hopefully that'd be touched on in the journey to Wano so there's sufficient time for the other interactions to go ahead in Wano.
This is now a Perona thread.
Is there a version of this pic that has Zoro yelling ghost blowjob while Mihawk is in the other room trying to sleep?
He secretly likes their company.
>Implying he didn't secretly love it
With Sanji and Luffy, I'd like them to have some time to just goof around and not Luffy asking for food or Sanji getting mad about some shit. Their smalltalk as they fight the lapans (or whatever the were called) in Drum is probably my favorite in-crew comedy exchange in OP.
And honestly, I don't see Zoro/Sanji or Nami/Sanji dynamic ever changing. At best we will get some semi-bro moment once they Zoro and Sanji meet again. Though if Zoro was to be captured as some theories say, seeing Sanji be the one to rescue him (together with bridal carry) would be neat.
Oh, nd yeah, Franky got it the worst. He literally never talked with Nami and exchanged like three words with Zoro. He pretty much only has some actual relationship with Robin, Brook and Usopp. Though in the case of Usopp, I think we still have lots of unused potential, like they could have shared project or whatever.
>Zoro vs Luffy
what the fuck
>Zoro beating Luffy
what the fuck x2
>random sand nigger shows up
what the fuck x3
>prime Whitebeard shows up
what the fuck x4
This whole video
The guy's reaction was pretty funny.
>running with arms behind him
Holy shit you can't make this up
Luffy x Boa
Zoro x Perona
Sanji x Pudding
These will become canon at some point and you know it, we will never actually see it but it will be briefly showed at the end of the manga somewhere, something like pudding standing beside Sanji at Baratie looking at the all blue; Zoro putting up with perona's shit at an undisclosed lcation with Mihawk's coat;
Pregnant Boa at luffy's grave
if you could have a devil fruit what would it be /a/? a) for power
b) for coolness/aesthetics/badassery
c) a made up one
>a) goro goro no mi
>b) supa supa no mi
>c) joki joki no mi (steam logia)
Im not a shipper you mongoloid, I would hate for this to happen in the actual story, but I do aknowledge that this will happen somewhere at the end.
>Zoro spent 2 years with perona
>Luffy spent 2 years with Boa
Sanji x Pudding is way less obvious but Oda has to give him a fucking bitch one day, he can't torture him THAT badly
>swarm of wasps logia
A) Marco's fruit
B) Baby 5 Buki Buki no mi
>a) Magu magu no mi
>b) Ushi Ushi no Mi, Model: Bison
>c) Fungi Fungi no mi (Fungus Logia)
I never ship but Oda has been giving male SHs potential love interests for some time now. He had Hancock falling for Luffy (which was actually an important plot point), implied Tashigi has some feelings for Zoro in SBS, Chopper had finally found a crush, Sanji now has this drama with Pudding. Plus Kaya can easily be made a love interest for Usopp. It'd probably be the best for the story if these won't get too much focus, but at this point I'm pretty sure he's going for "married with children" epilogue.
That's the weakness...
With Sanji and Luffy I always enjoyed that Sanji, whilst still young, was just a bit more mature than Luffy. So you had a good mix of both comedic and serious scenes between the two and their general chemistry was befitting their age. They sometimes get caught up in each others tempo and there's clearly a lot of trust there, particularly from Luffy to Sanji. Sanji comes across like a slightly older brother when they're not doing the whole, Sanji being angry about food or women bit.
I'm hoping that the events of the arc will help temper Sanji's more abrasive elements, and really sure up his connection with Luffy, given just how far he went to save him. I think both he and Brook suffer from having one of their primary comedic bits overplayed, when they're much more enjoyable when played straight. WCI has been refreshing for both of them, though they've both had good snippets elsewhere post-timeskip.
As for changing dynamics, I could see the events of WCI causing somewhat of a change, shipping aside, if Sanji makes some connection with Pudding his pervert comedic bit could be less played up, though still present.
As for him and Zoro, there's legitimate reason for tension there now, given the problems that Sanji's self-sacrifice generated as he should have known how Luffy'd react. I'm sort of surprised that he didn't try a bit harder to cover up the situation, to try and fool Luffy, but that's a minor complaint at best. I would hope the two could actually bond over the commitment to Luffy's dream as Zoro always came across as the more serious of the two in that regard.
More from Franky in general would be great, he's really flexible in that he can be both the comedic character or the serious, intelligent plan maker.
Who the fuck ships this, they have nothing to do with each other. Maybe a few lines but that's it.
even if we're most likely to get only 3 or 4 chapters of it, before the next break
I liked Fishman Island, Hody Jones was a pretty interesting villain. I just wish the execution of the arc was a little better. I could have done with less drawn out battles. Dressrosa suffered from the same thing. Punk Hazard was complete shit though. Easily the most boring arc since Impel Down.
There were 2 fruits that were exactly the same, one of them being a non canon before (Daifuku and that fat guy)
Also a paramecia and Logia are different, the paramecia one was all about poisoning, I would use this fruit more as a conventional weapon.
>Hoshi Hoshi no Mi
Reminds me of this gem.
Punk Hazard is an odd case where the introduction and ending were actually really enjoyable, the middle was just so utterly long and terrible that it soured the arc as a whole.
I'd honestly say the same thing about Dressrosa too, though it's more understandable in the latter case, given the need to setup the Straw Hat fleet. It definitely could have been handled better, but in comparison Punk Hazard had no excuse for the mid-arc drag.
I'll only accept DF awakening being a "thing" if only a few people in the world have access to it, such as Doffy and the ~two dozen or so people stronger than him.
Right now it just feels like a retcon to give Luffy a random power up later on.
Baron Omatsuri, Gold, Z and Strong World.
My favorite is Gold, it was fun.
Tontattas are cute but move their plot somewhere else to avoid a clusterfuck.
That's my point. Carnivores aren't really ever the strongest. What about elephants? Or bulls? Or fuckin ostriches even. Only Tigers bears and cheetahs are really faster or stronger than what they hunt.
you aren't, especially the tontattas
but you know what? they basically gave franky a cool little arc so i don't want to be too hard on them
What if Raftel is actually a portal to the afterlife?
No? I didn't stutter. I mean Impel Down.
I do agree that Monster Point is an Awakened form of Chopper's fruit although we have no substantial evidence yet.
Even if you did it, th birdcage still would take ~half the arc and be the only Doffy's plan in case of Sugar fainting which was retarded as hell. It also wouldn't remove Doffy's playing with his food too much after explicitly stating he'll be the one not to underestimate SHs, Robin's moment still would be weak, and Usopp's fiasco wouldn't get any better.
That's why the strawhats have someone important die in their flashbacks.
Oh yeah I forgot how retarded the birdcage was
I think the main problem is that Doflamingo just isn't that strong, when you consider that there were four dudes on the island stronger than him who wanted to take him down (Luffy, Sabo, Fujitora, Zoro)
So they had to invent bullshit to keep them occupied
Even then I don't see why Zoro didn't go double team Doffy with Luffy and beat him extremely easily.
>(Luffy, Sabo, Fujitora, Zoro)
Luffy, Sabo, and Zoro weren't stronger than Doflamingo on their own. Fujitora maybe, but taking Doflamingo down was a colossal team effort that completely spent all of Law and Luffy's energy, and nearly killed them both.
i would like a moth zoan
i could use my antennae to "smell" things from miles away by literally feeling the molecules with microscopic bristles, allowing me to detect and identify when something strange is in the air. i can also fly and don't need to eat.
sanji doesn't get shipped with anyone because he literally doesn't care who he ends up with as long as she's beautiful. this is why he will stay a kissless virgin for the entire show, because he can't just choose. as nami put it, "he's too fickle to understand what a woman wants"
Fujitora's whole plan was not taking him down. Luffy's being stronger than Doffy is unclear, and Zoro is pure headcanon. But regardless of all of this, Doffy not being so strong would be neat if he was using his brain like at the beginning when he took care of Luffy with tournament, Sanji with Viola and Law with Fujitora. But no, he's full plan relied on Sugar and he had nothing in case it failed.
Because unlike every other 'nakama choice' that has had a definitive 'it's not happening' to their theory, the circumstances around her have still not been addressed.
The moved heart.
The talk with Law.
The rabbits in the sea.
The astronomical tools.
We're not the only place talking about One Piece, all the world was talking about Monet's curious little clues and unexplained details. And Oda has said NOTHING.
It could be that no one's asked, or he doesn't feel like it's worth a joke answer.
Or it could be that for all the rage and shitting, I'm actually onto something.
And that's what compels so much more vitriol, in parts of themselves they don't want to captiulate to, everyone who shits on me, or tells me she's dead with no counter KNOWS that I have a point.
And that point can be what takes all that rage and dismissal and blows it out of the water. So the only answer to that is more rage. Grandiose claims of 'evil witch' 'no redeeming qualities' 'no one liked her' 'WHY AREN'T YOU MORE MAD ABOUT THIS THAN ME' textual static noise.
Beneath this mask of cute and cute is more than flesh, Mr. Anon. Beneath this mask there is an idea. And ideas are shitpost-proof. Or something.
In conclusion, Monet is nakama. Accept this, and move on.
You forgot Sabo
Near the beginning of the arc Fujitora says "regardless of your battle with Luffy, I will take you out after"
Killed any tension in the arc when there are a bunch of dudes stronger than the villain who want him dead
Zoro being as strong as Doffy probably isn't headcanon, Doffy used Fujitora to avoid fighting Zoro
You're right, there are definitely some things that haven't been addressed.
But bringing up those things over and over every thread for no reason other than that there is still no explanation? That's just shitposting. If you really want to go on about it, I'm sure google will help you find dozens of threads on reddit about monet.
You're either a newfag or baiting, so I'll just give you this and send you on your way
The rabbits in the sea were addressed its an old folktale about breaking waves looking like white rabbits
Its part of Oda's major rabbit fascination. Like Randolph. He is a rabbit that ride a crane from a cree Indian legend.
Not beefy enough.
No, Doffy didn't bother with Zoro cause Fujitora was there. There was never a 'Fuji Take care of this guy'
We have nothing to tell if Zoro would beat Doffy, except that he probably wouldn't since he's equal to Sanji and Sanji lost to parasite.
Can a speedreader explain to me why the Strawhats wanted to take down Doffy?
I understand why Law wanted to, but what was his excuse for how it would help them take down Kaido?
Why not just kill Caesar, and Kaido would take care of Doflamingo? And you'd still hurt Kaido?
I think Zoro could have taken Doffy to an extent, a lot of people don't seem to realize that a lot of One Piece match ups aren't so much "Character A is stronger than Character B because they're stronger than Character C" that's only part of it, another part is how each character's skills would match up
>Doffy would have fucked Zoro up real quick
Reminder that Zoro fags are always right and always win
>he's equal to Sanji
He would one shot him at this point
Seriously if you stripped Sanji and Zoro naked and left them on an island with no weapons Zoro would die within a month from starvation of wandering off a cliff.
And without Swords Sanji could destroy him.
Zoro is honestly nowhere near equal to Sanji
>Can a speedreader explain to me
>But bringing up those things over and over every thread for no reason other than that there is still no explanation? That's just shitposting.
Then the sheer existence of 4chan, or at least continual generals, is shitposting. Threads can only hold new ideas on property for a certain amount of time before old arguments are repeated, ideas are compared again, and people share what they want to discuss for another time. People make threads about topics to keep those topics about what they want to talk about. Some people want to talk ships, some people want to talk power levels, some people want to talk quality of the storylines. I want to talk about Monet, and the continual denial people take on these issues.
This idea of what is or isn't quality posting is subjective and also misses the point of generals. A general isn't designed to be a continual stream of universally accepted posts of high standard that fit everyone's idea. They're designed to be containments for big fandoms with lots of things to talk about. 20, 30 threads could be made of the things we talk about so we keep them here. Do I like when threads discuss on end their favorite ship, or devolve into greentext about jobbing or Oda's quality? Hell no. Nevertheless they are relevant and have as much a right to be here as anyone.
I like posting about Monet and I'll keep doing so within the rules of the board and the general cohesion of the thread. If you really want to go on about being against it, I'm sure google will help you find dozens of threads on reddit about whatever you like to talk about.
I'm talking about before they showed up. Why not just kill Caesar and move on?
I understand the Franky speech and how they didn't want the Tontattas revolution to fail, but that happened after they decided to fuck with Doflamingo and get him to resign.
>The rabbits in the sea were addressed its an old folktale about breaking waves looking like white rabbits
Different page. Go read the SBS again, and look at what page they talk about. Even the image on that one is of a different page.
Keeping Caeser alive was insurance to prevent Doffy from taking direct action against he alliance and instead negotiate with them. Law didn't expect Doffy to have the influence and power he did, so in his mind Doffy resigning from the shichibukai meant that either Kizaru/Fujitora/Ryokugyu/Akainu takes him out, or Kaido comes in and beats his ass. Either way, Law wins.
The trade on Dressrosa was so Law could provide a distraction while the Straw Hats destroyed the Smile factory to further enrage Kaido, and so Law could get a personal shot at Doffy himself.
I agree completely, In OP there are some characters that could beat Luffy and could perfectly be hardcountered by someone weaker (Like Usopp/Perona case).
However, Doffy speed style seems to have an advantage against Zoro strenght based style, plus Zoro wasn't aware of Doffy's fruit which could 've turned things against him.
That being said, I would've liked it better if Zoro stalled Doffy for those 10 minutes.
They were originally just going to help Law with his plan, that plan being to take out Doflamingo by forcing him to either accept dealing with Kaido's wrath, due to no Caesar to produce artificial devil fruits, or the Navy's due to his hostile takeover of an entire kingdom. However, he was also delaying for the Straw Hats to destroy the Smile factory, thus forcing Kaido's wrath and ensuring Doflamingo was fucked.
The problem is Law didn't realise just how deep a connection Doflamingo had with the World Government and he got played pretty fucking hard. So, the plan changed pretty drastically and Law eventually made it known that he wanted to take out Doflamingo, which co-incided with the whole Tonttanas subplot that involved a bunch of the Straw Hats by that point. Luffy got his drive to take out Doflamingo from Rebecca and then the general events in the country in the build up to the confrontation.
That's such an obscure situation just to let Sanji win. Zoro has his swords and weightlifts while Sanji kicks with fire.
Because Luffy isn't in the business of betraying alliances, as he believes anybody he's allied with to be his friends. Law tried to break off the alliance anyway multiple times, and Luffy dragged him back instead of letting him give up.
Okay we FINALLY get to Fishman island and hopefully not fall asleep.
Zoro would have been fucked from a maneuverability standpoint, which was also a big part of his fight with Pica, as he was forced to make use of outside sources to get in range and finish him off.
When Doflamingo got serious he was turning his surroundings into weaponized threads, Luffy could deal with it given his speed and flying with Gear 4, Zoro wouldn't have that luxury. In addition, Doflamingo was doing that whilst heavily injured by Law and, should that have not happened, he would have been even harder to beat. Sure, had Zoro been present, he would have been a big help. But he would get stomped solo against the guy.
Because Law's an official friend to Luffy by that point and he didn't want to, that and it was his plan they were following and he seemed much more tuned in to the whole situation.
Return to Fishman island when?
If Luffy defeats Big Mom, then he wouldn't have to return till post series right? But him defeating Big Mom is almost a 100% guarantee, yet it was still foreshadowed that he'd return. Will it be post Kaidou? Any speculations?
why do you hate fishman island so much? i just re-readed it and loved it, specially the colored version is fantastic.
i love otohime
Wasn't it foreshadowed by Enbina Yonezu Oni Giri? Besides, he's not actually growing extra heads and stuff, it's a way of showing his incredible growth in strength that seems to occur after being put through extreme hardship
That's fair. Though, even then I would still assert that Zoro would lose badly, given he genuinely has no way of dealing with flying opponents past a certain range. It's his biggest weakness, from a combat standpoint, as far as I can tell and Doflamingo would almost assuredly capitalize on it.
Gamma Knife and Red Hawk only landed because Law and Luffy continued to distract Doflamingo, who was otherwise paying attention during that battle. Hell, him sending Luffy off to deal with the string clone and then Bellamy was to keep the two away from each other so he could focus on Law alone.
I fucking hate Hody Jones and everything he represents. Also, I watched the anime after reading it, and now the horribly cheesy anime adaptation is all I can remember and it fucking sucks
Well yeah, I'm suggesting that the fight would have played out similarly in the end if you replaced Luffy with another equal strength character, as the swapping attack is still incredible for combo power and gamma knife is still going to fuck Doffy up
I think it was a good arc, the only thing that annoyed me about it is how it changed Sanji's character with Oda using that bloody nose gag for far too long. His character became annoying to me after this arc, he's only just now getting better as a character.
I liked it but the biggest issue is that there's almost no tension until the Noah comes into play. Hody at the end was mostly just a pest who was more of a danger to the royal siblings than he was to Luffy. It had the misfortune of being right after the TS in that sense.
they made shyarly too big she should have been human sized
Doffy hasn't got a huge ranged advantage though, I'd assert his strings lose stopping power over distance, or at least become easier to cut, just from a logical standpoint. In the end of that little standoff of flying slashes and string attacks I imagine they'd get bored and close in on each other
The real issue for me is how zoro would beat awakening bullshit, because as far as I'm concerned, if the ground turns to string, zoro can't cut it, and will lose.
unironic arc power rankings
1. Skypeia (newfags will attempt to refute this)
2. Impel Down
3. Dressrossa (just admit it)
9001. Arlong Park
900001. """Thriller""" Bark (wasn't thrilling)
WCI top 3 depending how it ends
That's equal. Its not fair if Zoro has swords and Sanji can't use weapons or even his hands.
And Zoro is just a powerlevel fag anyway he has 0 other skills. And Sanji could still probably face him evenly with knives.
pretty much everyone agrees that fisher tiger and his flashback are the highlights of the arc, with tiger himself being one of oda's most succesful character in the entire series
this panel still resonates with me to this day
You're disgustingly normie
I bet you watch the dub too
Get out of my thread
>D: Question, so "Gimlet", who appears in chapter 755 is based off of "Gimlet" the cocktail, right!? Oda-sensei, could it be that you're also a Raymond Chandler fan?
Or maybe you just really like alcohol (haha). P.N. Law's Second Assistant
>O: Yes. That is where "Gimlet" came from. How to go about this, it'd be way too complicated if I tried to explain it all. Basically, it was just a play on words for my amusement using this proverb, and I'm sure people who understand what I'm talking about will get this, but there's this famous line from the novel The Long Goodbye that goes "I suppose it's a bit too early for a Gimlet". Uhh, in other words, I gave him that name because I felt like I couldn't not reference the word when it came to drawing about hardboiledness. If it interests you, please go look it up. Russian is also the name of an alcoholic drink. Additionally, though I'm a Kyushu lad who draws pirates for a living and loves the concept of hardboiledness, I'm still no good at handling drinks.
her name is russian.
I wonder if Koala still considers herself a member of the Sun Pirates. Or if she ever learned that Fisher Tiger was an escaped slave, or that he still hated humans up to the moment of his death.
>lot of people don't seem to realize that a lot of One Piece match ups aren't so much "Character A is stronger than Character B because they're stronger than Character C"
that was before haki, unless it's a hard counter like luffy/enel or a meme power like sugar, by now df are almost completely irrilevant
The wedding here is between Lucky Roo and Lola. During Whole Cake climax we'll get a phone call with Lola saying "Hey Mama guess what? We're allied with the Red Hairs now!"
That's why Zoro is stronger.
Swordsman is stronger than melee fighter. Don't forget that Zoro is really strong without swords. Sanji with knives will still lose against a highly skilled swordsman.
Sanji is third strongest or fourth depending on Jinbei.
i just fucking noticed shanks' new pants in the cover art
did he ask dofla for some fashion advice or what
>I imagine they'd get bored and close in on each other
Doflamingo would have no reason to do that, outside of sensing an opening he could exploit. Remember he was slowly stitching himself back together at that point, the longer he plays keep-away, the more he heals and can then fight in better condition.
But, as you say, his awakening string bullshit would leave Zoro pretty fucked, particularly if he just turned the ground underneath him into strings. It's understandably his trump card and didn't seem to use up much stamina, which was my biggest gripe with Doflamingo as a whole, even Law's utterly bonkers overpowered fruit has the stamina use weakness.
The thing about many Zorofags is that they don't actually like or care about Zoro. He's just fairly bland and strong making him an ideal self-insert for them, as opposed to the rest of the male crew who have more unflattering traits than "XD bad direction lol".
They will imply him doing completely OOC shit so long as it fulfills some fantasy, like Zoro desiring command over the fleet or being shipped with every bitch he barely notices.
The real Zoro fans are the ones currently concerned about his whereabouts.
He has more negative personality traits though.
He's easily flustered and not very smart. He's pretty useless without being given orders. Thats why he never went anywhere in east blue before he met luffy.
I think he'll likely be killed in the reverie. From a narrative point of view, it would be a good way of bringing Vivi back into the story with the Straw Hats, and it would present a reason for Luffy to collide with the WG in the foreseeable future (i.e. to help Vivi).
Born in a small egg with a permeable membrane that absorbs nutrient from the environment.
That or just born a normal size then exploded over a week because lol One Piece people being over 11 ft is completely normal.
A reminder that this ship is about as likely as any other ship in One Piece and should make you realize that you should all kys, shipperfags
>He's pretty useless without being given orders.
Sure. Like in Whisey Peak when he was one of the two members not dumb enough to trust "pirate loving town" completely and saved everyone's asses. Or when he came up with a way to defend against Bon Clay in Alabasta. Or when he protected crew's integrity in Water 7, by noticing allowing Usopp in just like that would weaken them. Or when he devised a plan to beat Pica and save everyone in Dressorsa combining abilities of allies he just met in seconds.
That's pretty minor compared to what Sanji did in Little Garden Alabasta Water 7 and Enies Lobby where he saved the crew from far more severe threats to all their lives acting alone.
Mr. Prince was certainly more awesome, but minor? What the fuck? Without double sign in Alabasta Vivi could have died to Mr. 2, without his plan in Dressorsa king, Usopp, samurais etc. would be fucking dead. Without him actually deciding to stop the cage by force, Luffy wouldn't have the time needed to finish Doflamingo. In most cases he wasn't doing everything on his own, but Mr. Prince also required Chopper's help, and they were still Zoro's autonomous decisions. These actions weren't minor, and Zoro isn't useless without orders. Come on.
We are talking about only Sanji. All Sanji has is kicks while Luffy has a devil fruit, multiple modes and actually grew. Sanji hasn't progressed and has gotten worse after the tranny island.
I'm pretty sure Zoro is outright stronger than Sanji, partially because he specializes in armament haki, but Sanji is much more mobile than Zoro, coupled with his specialization in observation haki.
Very frequently Sanji ends up doing some side plan that ends up rescuing the others, so him being able to get there in time helps a lot.
That's the setup that I most enjoy in the Straw Hats. Sanji being a bit below Zoro in terms of overall combat ability, but making up for it in other areas and making use of his far greater maneuverability to either go do some important job, protect some of the weaker combatants present or just fight the quick or equally maneuverable strong enemy present. In Dressrosa he was just incredibly unfortunate that the quick, maneuverable enemy present was Doflamingo himself.
It'll be interesting to see how Jinbei fits in with that whole dynamic, he's got a lot of tools to utilize with his fishman karate, particularly against devil fruit users or opponents near water.
What other mythical zoans could we have?
>Phoenix and Giant Buddha are already canon
>Vampire and Tanuki are in the games
Cerberus? Griffin? Chimera? Pegasus/Unicorn? Ogre?
yeah ive thought about mythical griffin before, would be nishe af
beyond some magical power like regen on phoenix and shockwaves on buddha, you could have shit like
>can transform fully into either lion or eagle
>each indiviual body part can be transformed separately, so could turn your arm into a talon for piercing claws or a lion's foreleg for muscular strength, regardless of the rest of your body
>cover body in thick mane and coat in haki for a defensive ability similar to guard point
>And without Swords Sanji could destroy him.
>Implying Zoro would not one shot Sanji with a mutoryu attack
Face it arleady, Oda loves to shit on Sanji more than anything, and loves to jack off Zoro.
Those are some really interesting ideas actually, particularly the individual body part one. That'd fit a mythical chimera fruit as well, which is something I hope to see from someone in Kaido's crew, just for the mix-up game it could bring to a fight.
Zoro would fucking break sanjis legs with armament and pic related
ODA, WHERE'S MY NIGRESS PUDDING?
>Sanji could dodge katakuri
He fucking barely dodged a basic unnamed attack you fucking shitposters, can we stop with the sanji dodged katakuri meme? Especially because right after he got btfo by Daifuku
I think you mean
Luffy Zoro and Jinbei
>He fucking barely dodged a basic unnamed attack you fucking shitposters, can we stop with the sanji dodged katakuri meme?
It's not a meme when it actually happened. You trying your best to downplay doesn't change that.
>swear to find all blue
>lmao all what again? Oh shit a woman brb gotta get cucked
He dodged a jellybean but got hit by a stand user.
Sanji dodging is not as great as you say it is.
Not him but saying this character is strong for dodging someone powerful is stupid and he was pointing it out. No need to be a fujo to see bullshit.
That'd be an interesting situation were it true, it could force him to act more aggressively and actively hunt down Daifuku to try and interrupt his smoke-genie summoning. Fuck, I'm really hoping that those two do get a straight up 1 on 1.
>Dodging someone strong isn't an indicator of strength
Then I guess anyone could have dodged the bean at just the right angle to kill the priest preventing his attack. While also charming Pudding into stopping her attack.
It would be cool if Sanji figures out he has to sense the genie but then Daifuku himself attacks and then Sanji was like I won't play your game then and dodges all of both their attacks without using CoO before taking him down. Maybe revealing that paper doll move from rokushiki
Sanji will never wear a raid suit, it'd be cool if he did but Sanji wants nothing to do with the Germa or his family.
Wearing a raid suit would symbolize everything he is against, unless he somehow customized it to represent the Strawhat crew. Also the raid suit would give Sanji a power boost (which he needs) but I doubt he'll wear one.
Mini flashback to Sanji unlocking the ability as a group of Okamas surround him and its the only way to dodge. And Sanji imagines Daifuku and the gene as Okama while dodging them both
Yes, anyone could have as long as thet have CoO
I could see its use being justified through Sanji accepting his past, willingly parting ways with it, but taking or learning from it to come out stronger, in this instance taking a physical object. The reasoning behind such a decision being that he has to become stronger to support Luffy, who supported him in his darkest hour when he'd given up hope.
But, realistically I think it has too much of a conflict with his desire to step away both from his past and his connection to the Germa. He'll have to power up in another way, even if it's just him remembering something else from his two year training.
I bet most will take this chance to run away from Big Mom when she's in a rage.
She runs her crew with fear.
Big moms kids are more likely to be sacrificed than willing to lay down their lives.
Has the possibility of BB getting a third fruit been discussed? Like maybe he could have one of each type. I'd think he would want Marco's more than anything. It would negate the drawback of the yami yami no mi, and give him flight. He'd be even more of a monster.
That's what her personal homies are for, anon. Seriously, there's 3 of them and they've not done anything the past few chapters.
I'm betting that, under the fear mongering, there's some genuine love from Big Mom to her children. As a result, some will take the opportunity to leave, such as Opera, whilst many will do whatever it takes to defend Big Mom when she's harmed. Katakuri in particular looks like he'll go to great lengths to protect Big Mom, he a good boy.
Yes, he is more likely to get Marco's fruit unless a more stronger zoan appears. He has the strongest of 2/3 class currently so a zoan is likely.
a) Pika Pika no Mi
b) Moa Moa no Mi
c) Deyou Deyou no Mi (Telekinesis) - Paramecia. Would allow flight through moving one's self, the ability to annihilate people via pulling them apart (People like Luffy and Logia's who see it coming would be immune) and more.
>every strawhat has something about them that's visually silly and prevents action scenes from becoming hyper-serious like other battle shounen
>the only thing that's silly about jinbe at all is that he makes funny straight man manzai faces like half the characters in the whole series do
>people still think jinbe is going to join
the only potential strawhat that has any hope was kinemon because he could use his clothing magic to make silly things happen, but that ship has sailed
Oda specifically said this was his intention behind giving luffy stretch power, that he can draw him doing goofy looking shit in a fight scene. Every strawhat has something inherantly ridiculous about them, like zoro holding a sword with his teeth or all the weird modes and abilities franky has used like hair cannon or centuar mode
Now that the dust has settled, Hancock is stronger than Jinbe, right?
That isn't what I said. A scene can be taken seriously without becoming a little TOO serious to the point where it all blends together in shades of melodramatic grey. You can agree or disagree but that's specifically how oda wrote the series
Back in FI he said he'd join as soon as he took care of some business. That business being quitting BM's crew.
Now that the business is taken care of he's a part of Luffy's crew, as per their previous agreement..
