The only thing I care about in the shows are the characters, if Kill la kill didn't have Mako,Ryuuko and Satsuki I wouldn't watch it, if Luluco didn't have Over justice I wouldn't watch it and if Little Witch Academy didn't have Diana, Akko and Chariot I wouldn't watch it, they make the shows for me. Kiznaiver didn't have a single likable character for me to care about it, the guy was boring, fatty was annoying, Tenga was a white knight faggot and the girls were bitchy, glasses and tsundere, annoying, the nui looking girl or too atustic to have a personality other than, I wanted white guy's dick, blue hair. Even Inou Battle was watchable for the graceful robber girl and light purple hair. Ninja Slayer's Koki episodes were good,too.

It's the same in shows with a heavy male cast, having a couple of female characters doesn't hurt anyone. The problem is (in both male and female cases) is when automatically label them as romantic interests. Andrew is fairly a decent character on his own and is interesting how mucj of a contrast he is to Akko and Diana (or hell, any other witch or mage, siince that's pretty much the point of his character), but that gets sadly overshadowed because people rather to use him as meat for the shipping grinder.

Me too.

Her character is what sold me on the show the moment the series was announced. The OVAs left me intrigued. What I wasn't expecting was Chariot being such a central character, and that's pretty awesome in my book.

Also, the fact that despite being a mentor character, she still has room for development and not being a walking plot device or an infallible figure. I love how they have been doing that in other series, like Mob Psycho 100 with Reigen.
