BBK, ID-0 and Kado made me like full CG shows and Orange makes some great mecha CG but the author's art style is something very unique and very flowy and I dont think CG will really capture that feel.

I think yes, I've seen some pretty nice body language in cgi anime. If anything I'm more worried about the transition for this scene. The joke is the sudden changes of the expression and them being sudden with no in between changes are better than include the in between. Just like some comedy anime dont feels as funny as the manga because they miss the timing.
Also the low detail of the faces enhances the joke instead of keeping them full detail, something the 3D model would keep if they just "zoomed out" on it. I dont think that Orange will do that though since they already stretch their models in order to look better.

Meh, I don't watch enough anime with CG in it to hate it or the studio being brought in, but I think that of all series that probably won't benefit from CG this might be one of them. The minimalistic style always seemed like it lent itself to 2D animation and I'm not sure what benefits the 3D will bring to the table.

I have mixed feelings for this. I had hoped they would go in the style of the manga PV. I didn't expect Studio Hibari to continue it regardless since they're a small studio.

A lot of my favorite shows are CG (Arpeggio, Bubuki Buranki, Kemono Friends). I'm enjoying Kado so far too, and I thought Sidonia was nice. CG itself isn't a problem for me.

This will be the first production for Orange, and indeed they're CG mecha always get praised (CG: Akito, Majestic Prince) but CG mecha isn't the same as CG people (see: Sidonia).

I actually like the key visual they've shared. The trademark sparkles looks great as well. I hope they absolutely nail the solemn atmosphere of Houseki no Kuni. Either way I think I'll like it.

Being made of young people, I feel like Orange will try and learn from other successes. Toei, Sanzigen, and the like have shown ways of making human faces look interesting and immersive in 3DCG and with any luck they will learn from that.

I actually think the LL director will be a bonus here. Both seasons had numerous unique and varied expressions for the cast, several meme-tier ones even. He might be able to guide them there, and I am pretty sure he directed the dances from LL as well, which were all CG so he has experience with that as well. The expressions in the eyes are pretty glassy when you look at those though. Something to be concerned about.

It all comes down to the PV in the end.

I think the worst thing of this being a CG adaptation is just that the character designs are so similar (outfits and proportions, plus nearly all the moon people look identical) the animators will likely reuse the same models on nearly everyone.
