I think the difference is that Jobin is in over his head. We'll see, but I think Jobin has a clearly different idea of the branch and fruit than Dolomite+others. Wait, here's a crazy theory I just had. A baby washed up on shore the day Johnny died, right? Remember Gyro's body was washed away by the ocean after he died, right? Norisuke suggested that Yotsuyu's dick floated to Hawaii, what if Gyro somehow after dying, drifted to Japan due to his spiritual connection with Johnny? Due to some weird after effects of Ballbreaker caused Gyro to age backwards and so he became an infant when he arrived. Afterwards he was reraised and lost his memories as Gyro until he was a young man and saw Johnny's grave. He wanted to revive him due to subconscious memories and tried equivalent exchange in the hope that it would revive him. Johnny's body, minus head, is probably well preserved still after contact with the corpse. However it failed and Gyro became a rock man. Unable to fully revive Johnny, he became dedicated to his subconscious urge to revive him, and began breeding the Rokakaka so that they may be able to fully revive his friend, however he lost sight of his true goal and eventually just became dangerously obsessed with reanimating him. Now he's probably an ancient rock human who still looks like a man in his 20s who secretly carries Johnny's headless corpse around with him and dotes on it in a manner similar to Kira and his hands. He's still technically Gyro but no longer remembers Johnny, or even know who he is. He just has an insatiable obsession with it.

Nah it doesn't imply that at all, the constant referencing of Damo over the last year even after he died has been reinforcing that he was the boss and no one was above him, hence why he attacked the Higashikatas alone and without backup. The new Rock Human is probably trying to take over what Damo left behind though, and was likely not involved with him like Dolomiti. Damo might have known about him though, he might even have been scared of him and his suicidal attack on the Higashikatas was also his only way of securing his power and safety.

If you ignore Part 4, and count Part 7 by its years serialized or number of pages, each part has been longer than the previous: 7 > 4 > 6 > 5 > 3 > 2 > 1. So, 8 being the longest is not shocking.

What is shocking is that it feels almost over (at least two thirds into the story) and we still don't know the entirety of the plot or have a primary antagonist. With this new Stand, Jojolion now passes SBR in number of unique new Stands, and is only half a dozen away from being second only to SDC.

It's difficult to say exactly how it compares, but I think most people would agree that due to its serialization length, it's acceptable to just call it the longest.
