Jotaro was shown to care about his friends and develop over the course of his part. He played around with them. He had conversations with them. He learned about them. He was interested in them as human beings. It's easy to see that he treasured Polnareff and Kakyoin as his friends, and grew to love Joseph. He's not a particularly well-written character, but at least he's a character. This shows more in the parts after 3, with 4 expanding on his role as an adult and mentor, and 6 expanding on his role as a father.

Giorno does not get any of this. Giorno NEVER has a conversation with any of his comrades unless he has to. He never has any banter with them. He never asks about their lives or interests, nor does he tell them about his. Giorno is bland, and it has nothing to do with the translations, either.

The other JoJos are regularly the butt of jokes, they have friendships and rivalries, they have flaws, they have quirks, they're people. Giorno doesn't. Pretty much every time something bad happens to him in a fight, it's because he allowed it as part of his plan. If people (like Abbacchio) are rude to him, it's only so they can be subsequently put in their place, and Giorno himself never even has to work to make this happen. He doesn't even talk to his companions unless he has to.

Everything people say about Jotaro (2cool4u, no emotions, never talks) is worse with Giorno tenfold. They're also parading their ignorance when they say that, too - I'm pretty sure Giorno smiles hardly more than Johnny, and certainly less than Jotaro.
