Episode 7 preview
I'm sure glad to see that Meteora is ok
My Japanese is bad but If I had to translate this it would be:
>A Magical sword gun?
>This world has everything, huh!
>It's fun! It's really fun!
>The World's short weekend
>Weekend... That's a nice word!
when did you realize that Hiroe is a hack?
I'd watch Yuuya and Rui eating sundaes and trying to pick up chicks over whatever the PV is hinting at. Wish they expanded on the SoL moments at least so they can let the characters breathe.
>He doesn't enjoy the GOAT half-correct quantum mechanics and computer science lecture anime.
This fuckin' pleb right here...
>ywn feed Meteora excessive amounts of cocaine and amphetamines and just let her keep going.
Most of that was the military raid which had no reason to happen in the first place. Reminder that in fiction things have to make sense and "they're incompetent" is not acceptable especially if that contradicts what they're trying to go for.
>no Meteora to calmly explain your actions and motivations as you breathe deeply into your helium-fueled exit bag
>motorola is alive and talking
Ba-boom! That's what you get by not loving FAGs!
The only thing that could save this episode
(and show)now is hobo life with Mamika and Aliceteria
There's so much potential for hype as fuck cross-genre Death Battles but instead we get A Wrong History of Time.
Don't you even...
I swear to fucking Christ...
That's exactly what I tried to said.
We don't know. The PV indicates as such. The episode is called 「世界の小さな終末」and we're only shown one scene on one spot so there's still hope. But this probably won't do anything to help the midweek threads.
>episode title is hype
>we get this PV
I will keep watching it for Rui, but who the hell approved these first episodes? Aoki is really halfassedly trying to make some of the things more fun and I don't know what Hiroe was thinking. If there is no payoff for all the theory set up and exploration of how characters work in our world it will be disappointing as fuck.
The idea is fun, the characters are fun, but the execution of the story is awful.
He is the hero, protecting the heroine from the evil government.
You could make the relationship between what Rui did and the episode title.
I choose to believe a small end of the world means a mini apocalypse, which is possible considering where we have already gone with Gotz von Berlichingen, or something about Setsuna and Souta's reveal at worst. Both are welcome in my book.
Remember, it's supposed to get serious on episode 7, while the fight on episode 6 was a spectacle it was also avoidable under different circumstances.
>You could make the relationship between what Rui did and the episode title
So the apocalypse in this episode will last exactly 5 seconds?
>I choose to believe a small end of the world means a mini apocalypse
Why didn't they show anything about it in the PV? It doesn't have to be a spoiler or anything, just something more exciting than shit everybody is fucking sick of including japs. Is the guy in charge of PVs trying to sink the show?
>it's supposed to get serious on episode 7
Your source for that is?
At least you know when the source is complete garbage beforehand. Fucking Troyca and their false advertising.
>Meteora is an NPC in a JRPG.
>Role in the game is to give the PC the info he needs to defeat the final boss and win the game
>Transported to the real world, proceeds to do the exact same thing for the other characters
Just gotta keep on killing yourself. Believe there's a light at the end of the tunnel.
Seeing as how that last post got dubs, I think it's safe to say that the rest of our collective existence will just be endless nested Meteora infodumps with each being more overlong and excruciating than the last.
How many times is this show going to use
>character is about to die but is saved by the actions of x!
Especially with the characters they plaster over promo images? Also I knew this would be a cooldown episode. Most of the "battle" last episode was just characters talking but of course a show this lazy thinks it deserves a cooldown episode.
At least he is not a superhuman or a tactical geinus. He's just a normal dude who knows something important that will advance the plot. What he does with it and his backstory is what makes him interesting instead. I'd love to see if he did nothing to contribute in the fight with the characters, he has no qualities in that angle.
The problem is that she performs the MC role of seeing what's going on, adapting to the world and deciding what to do next, but it doesn't show that from her point of view, it just makes her report on it. If we followed her from the start, showing her being taken from her library and confronting Hime, getting used to the real world with her book, investigating what's going on and searching for her creator, it'd have worked much better, but instead it wants to do the whole artsy "bystander protagonist" thing, but fucks it up and just ends up having him he told everything instead of actually showing it.
The problem is that she took most of the screentime, if this continues it will be impossible to become attached to the other characters. Battles without much context or reasons to care are no fun. They seem to be taking things really seriously (a bit too much) so I hope they'll at least put more effort into the personalities and motivations of the creations eventually.
Meteora's realization that her creator died and dealing with it happens basically offscreen, 10 minutes later she is perfectly fine and came to terms with it. They are doing an awful job of making me care for her while they're pushing her so much.
Not only that, but it shakes her resolve to save the world and makes her pull back from the group - but we only learn about that once she's back and has decided what to do, killing all the potential tension. This show just can't pull off what it's trying to do - it should just have gone with a normal, participatory main character.
Why didn't she just ask for missile permission before going to a fight? It's clear they were observing before Alice charged. Is it just a bad attempt at raising tension? Because I was only wishing she would die rather than thinking it would really happen.
B-But anon ! Don't you want to see MORE people sitting down talking ? I mean, it's not like there's any other way to have exposition and character interactions right ?!
Fuck this show, but at this poin Im commited to it, might as well finish it. Ei Aoki confirmed for actual meme director.
Someone will probably die so they can show how that affects the created world / story.
I'd love to see the reaction if Meteora goes full Jesus-analogue complete with death and
You got that in the wrong order. Like episode 3 the fight will be wrapped up within the first minute and the rest will be the characters discussing what happened and how to deal with the new circumstances.
>they stumble at some point and have to make a recap episode
>get to hear not just an infodump, but THE infodump as meteora talks throughout the entire episode by theorizing about things we already know and saw complete with 4th wall breaking
How upsetting would this turn of events be?
WOW ANOTHER METEORA EXPOSITION EPISODE!?!?!
I'M SO EXCITED!!!!
I'm convinced that you people just want to meme at this point we get it meteora info dumps a lot jesus christ
If they didn't want people pointing out the shows' flaws then they shouldn't have had any.
Her voice is nice but she really needs to stop explaining every goddamn thing. I'm not even going to touch episode 7 unless I hear she and OL are prevented from taking up most of the runtime.
Google Translator-kun gave something understandable
>Kanoya kun has not yet issued a robot, and there are also many mysteries. According to rumors it seems that he still has no characters that have appeared yet ...
suck the cum out of his feminine little penis
>we have a niconico marathon on 19th to attract more people to the show before episode 7, any ideas?
>let's make a PV that highlights things people hate about the show
>Tanaka, you are genius!
The episode for which this was a preview was the Slaine torture kink episode. I'll never trust an Aoki trailer again.
pvs are just slid into the space between airing blocks on the station to kill time. Sometimes effort is put into them, but they're more of a paltry obligation than an actual promotion of the next episode.
>This anime is written by Rei Hiroe, the same author of Black Lagoon, and BL abused of infodumps and you can expect Hiroe repeat the same trick.
Is that so? I didn't get bothered by it so much because the English dub voice acting was damn awesome
Black Lagoon had tons of action, a lot of information was delivered through aesthetics and and dialogues were tense, it wasn't a fucking boring kuudere monolouging. Not to mention a three episodes long infodump wouldn't even fit in some arcs of Black Lagoon.
Will Hime ever appear in the PV or she is too interesting for that?
She had two, talking to Setsuna and Explaining things to Aliceteria. And a few seconds on the TV inside monomagia and a blurry shot from the government.
Yuya wouldn't do that. Yuya would just make himself part of the action. Then he would steal the girls for himself and leave Rui watching for being a faggot who wouldn't get in the fucking robot.
>show has huge potential
>better not give it any budget and make it about people standing and talking for 10 minutes
>but something idiotic like Aldnoah gets money
did they seriously expect AZ is going to be new Gundam
Inori doesn't really like that role judging by the interviews. She has to record shitloads of lines with kanji she can't even read while some other character get a dozen lines per episode.
>did they seriously expect AZ is going to be new Gundam
That's just a shitpost meme, a guy said that in an article about the show and /m/ blew it out of propotion. None of the staff actually thought that.
>they are standing and talking because of muh budget
That's Hiroe's story until now, standing and talking is all they have to adapt.
AZ sold 9k because something was happening all the time in season 1 and there was enough tension and sense of danger.
Daily reminder that we are soon going to see some Gigas Machina being destroyed upon repair due to MSF. How can non-Himefags even recover?
Mamika tops the powerlevels and can probably solo everyone including Hime and Meteora with infinite prep time.
She can't. She just likes to spout random things around.
This show must have quite a budget though. They had started animating 9 months before the first episode aired, that's super early. They have Sawano's soundtrack and they have Maaya voicing a character that will apparentely talk a lot. All the seiyuu are more or less well known. The amount of shilling they do is staggering too.
Who in their right mind would give that amount money to Aoki and Hiroe without even checking what they are doing is a good question.
From the twitter activity it looks like the show is getting some momentum thanks to ep 6, but now they are about to kill it with ep 7.
Christ, amazing this level of incompetence and lack of foresight for what easily could have been a successful new franchise.
Aniplex really doesn't mind burning money.
I've yet to see eromanga hype me for something and then bore me to oblivion instead.
As much as everyone likes to shit on eromanga, it's still the most fun to watch this season by a mile.
The funny part is that they approached Aoki with this project while the second season of Aldnoah was airing and people obviously weren't happy with it. You'd think they'd doubt him for a while.
What surprises me is- why didn't they sit down with Hiroe and discuss how to change the early episodes? Is all of this absolutely crucial and will there be a payoff and a huge tone shift? The anime is already 6 episodes in, it feels like it's too late. Episode 7 might be their last chance.
nah none of if it useful, the entire plot is literally just anime characters come to earth some want to end the world others protect it
why they thought that needed expanding on is beyond me
What do you mean. He would be useless either way. Meteora, for all her talking, manages to show initiative at least while he can't even open his fucking mouth when the world depends on it.
Now that you say it, not even that is clear. I guess there's gonna be a twist where Hime shuts Meteora's mouth and tell her everything she thinks is wrong. Only Hime can save this shitshow.
>Clusterfuck in the middle of the city
>All but two characters involved
>Old man is introduced
>Bridge blown apart, team Red gets its shit kicked in
>Mamika questions her allegiance
Yet nothing is happening meme keeps clinging on to a PV.
I'd like to congratulate those in denial for their perseverance.
Why do people complain about the info dumps? They're like, generic anime levels of infodump. They're not that bad.
And even then, Meteora only talked a lot during her coming to terms with her creators death and her decision to help humanity and the conference with the government.
Ep 2 ended with a lot of promise and yet the whole issue was resolved in literally seconds during the next episode.
Given this preview, there is no reason to think that it will be different this time.
>episode 2: infodump is okay, you ADD faggots
>episode 3: at least we've learnt something new despite all the setup from episode 2 being wasted
>episode 4 PV: it's misleading you dense motherfucker
>episode 4: the infodump explained characters motivation, now they have nothing more to talk about
>episode 5: well, at least we have a new character to monologue info
>episode 7 PV: you ADD faggots are in denial
I think that part was actually one of the better "meteora is talking" parts. It was preceded by her and marine visiting the studio and imagery of meteora going to the internet cafe. The dump of her mind-state only followed the visuals.
What came after it, the whole world destruction thing was inferior since it was not really backed by anything we have seen. If they had shown team hobo first with hime giving her speech to saber first then meteora's deductions would be a bit more palatable since we could assume she has talked to hime before.
But she did extensively talk to Hime before, in episode 2 she gave the summary of the conversation except that last detail about breaking the physics because she didn't want to make Hime seem like a threat before deciding her position. Hime was even aware of the dilemma she was hiding when in episode 1 she asks "Oh, didn't you talk to your creator yet?"
Episode 2 was entirely Mamika's villain of the week attribute. The scene got resolved when she was distraught and confused. Her antagonizing team Red and questioning herself in episode 6 was the payoff. The difference here is, they now have real stakes. Team Hime wants to get rid of team Red and proceed with their plans. Team Red wants to stop team Hime and get ahold of the new character. They won't just disengage and leave the scene like last time, because it was the sensible thing to do. Here, one side will come out ahead and do something according to that later on.
Well, I was talking about the titular character who was more of a plot device than a character.
Still, Madoka was fun to watch. Urobuchi is good at defining his characters through their actions.
madoka was not the main character. and she still had way better characterization than soda. just look at her interactions with her mom for example.
You don't seem to understand madoka's ending if you think it's lazy. It was foreshadowed, it was not what it appeared to be at face value, it tied well into the show's concepts and so on. It was pretty damn good.
>Time is running out
Time has been running out for a very long time. many years from homu's perspective.
>I did it anyway
as she did many times before
>I'm God now
I hope you're not thinking of the judeo-christian god thing. Madoka became an embodiment of a fairly confined concept, necessary to enforce the tricky aspect of her wish that eats its own despair. Madoka got a pretty mediocre, self-sacrificial deal out of it that could easily be compared to punishments meted out by greek gods, think sisyphus. Of course it's not quite as bad since one can guess that she may have company from all the harvested souls, I mean saved magical girls.
She has become more of a grim reaper than a god.
>Bittersweet ending because thought provoking
What? That's what makes things lazy for you? But a sugar-coated ending where everyone is frolicking on emerald green meadows would have been non-lazy?
>Expect Metora absence for couple of episodes after she got BTFO'd by Jii-san
>She comeback perfectly fine next episode with her infodump team mate
I FUCKING BET MAMIKA IS THE ONE HEAL HER INJURY.
Your expectations were unrealistic
Red's more of a twig than her pectoral fat deposits suggest
>we never got to see the guys' night out
>but we got to see meteora being in charge of negotiations with the government
>meteora talking with the female officer
>meteora at the crime scene
>meteora talking while eating
>meteora playing video games
They should just cut the bullshit and release 20 minute episodes of Meteora talking with the viewer coming from work ,eating, taking a bath and sleeping together in first person.
Now that I think about Altair's sabers form a star when they spin. Chuuni as fuck. If only Hiroe put this much effort into writing.
Why would she want that when she has this?
Yeah that's neat. The first episode was really good.
Don't mind me, just drinking my daily cup of best girl.
never mind I can't post the webm of her fight against Celestia
She survived one hell of a fall and got up immediately afterwards. She took a whole bridge in her back and a ray gun in the front. Meteora had a real difficulty getting up when she left to fight Alice afterwards. It must take a lot to incapacitate her. She's pretty much a superhuman. Hell, I wonder if she could take the gravity bomb instead of meteora.
>Hell, I wonder if she could take the gravity bomb
Looks like OP needs an infodump about how much of a faggot he is
Only thing that can redeem Meteora is if she goes full Oni mode, speaking only in low-pitched growls and howls
Well said, my scholarly associate.
Allow me to interject there for a moment. What you're referring to as "Gods" are in fact "Creators", or as I've recently taken to calling...
>Dialogue between big boss and mamika
>alice takes mamika, says something to red and leaves
>Red goes to help meteora
>Sharkteeth nowhere to be seen
JSDF sees the fuckup, takes charge instead. Fatty has "google" up on his screen so they'll probably look up source materials while on cooldown. Kikuchihara will stick with team Red. Cut to team hime for some dialogue.
Midweek has been like that for several weeks now.
Good. I understand it when LN authors write garbage but when a guy who had better story telling 20 years ago does that it's just low effort. Don't even get me started on Aoki, hopefully he won't touch another original show ever again.
>Don't even get me started on Aoki, hopefully he won't touch another original show ever again.
he did nothing wrong
if it wasn't for the action scenes and yuri, not a single one of us would here now
A good director can make an ever worse borefest of a script watchable. The fact that the only thing Aoki can do about it is the same fucking trick he used in Ga-Rei is more telling than anything.
more headtilts from sharkteeth
meteora talks would be accompanied with lots of abstract background shots
mamika (transformed) showing off legs and spats
even the food porn would be better
I really liked Vogel's design in the pvs but Gigas won me over. That said it's such a waste to have two cool robots and yet with the current plot simply using them at all is forbidden because the world will get fucked according to deus ex machina book mage.
Would they bother making the 3D models if the mecha didn't play any role in the story? It would be cheaper to not do any CGI and just draw them by hand if they had so little appearances. There will probably be a fight involving the mecha.
A guy from the future posted this on a thread from earlier http://i.4cdn.org/a/1494889219417.webm
Would be a lot of hype. They're gonna end up fighting. I hope its not something as small and omnipotent as hime.
I really hope Hime interrupts the fight instead of the JSDF just so she will get some screentime.
She literally did everything so far.
>didn't get to see Altair's really cool world hopping recruitment adventures
This show makes me sad.
It would be one of my top 5 things which would never happen:
1. Mamika fanservice
2. Selesia Mech doesn't come back
3. Souta holds on to the information until it's revealed
4. Meteora dies
5. Big Boss lives until the end
She already summoned a freaky monster so it's not far off she'd get something to scale to fight for her. We haven't seen a limit to her power, yet. It could've been the plot which kept her down in the past but now she has the book with herself.
Just because she has been too busy advancing with the plot away from the screen. You'll learn about it on episode 22 with a quick rundown before the epilogue.
Is she no pan?
She is certainly the one with the most death flags. Being weak in combat, already having her creator arc finished and no creator to talk to,
In terms of death:
Meteora, Aliceteria, Magane, Blitz
Mamika, Hime (100% chance of being banned forever to her own world otherwise though), Yuya
Magane being a serial killer will probably be the priority of the government and he has a large weakness if you know how her power works. And since Hiroe was in doubt of adding her character, she is probably not vital.
Only character that is a threat to Rui is Hime who doesn't kill indiscriminately, and he will likely don't do anything anyway. I doubt anyone will straight up assassinate him outside of the robot either.
>Even if Meteora gets killed she'll just appear as a ghost and continue talking
That would not be inconsistent with the level of fucking up that the main characters have perpetrated so far
I mean, they intervened in the first place to stop a fight, and the result was, surprise surprise, a bigger fight
In my opinion, a creation being dead in this world doesn't mean shit at all though.
Seriously, as long as its publisher & its author still alive, its fiction universe will be always there with that creation in it.
>they intervened in the first place to stop a fight
They intervened to stop Hime's faction, not to stop a fight.
I don't like how they haven't addressed that yet. Like seriously, what happened. Selesia is here, Mamika is here, Rui is here, and they are all from currently airing anime. We saw them teleport out and Hime's appearance disrupted their show - what effects did all this have on their series? We know Ms. Audiobook's world still works exactly as if she had never been removed, is it the same case for the others? And if Hime removing characters worked the same for all as what we saw with Selesia, then how the fuck is that supposed to work with manga (Yuya) or illustrated novels (Magane)?
>I don't like how they haven't addressed that yet.
Meteora will infodump it for you in the future episode.
cute military girls out of uniform are nice too.
So why exactly is he so unwilling to talk about whatsherface?
I mean that's kind of important information you're withholding there, buddy.
Government wants to steal dead gf OC.
MUP > GNH
But only if they make cute hime muppets.
The government would have a great deal of interest in finding out as much as they can about her from anyone tied to the creator. That might involve a trip to the nice American interrogation specialists.
I don't like where this is going
How can a girl be so best? Stopping giant mechas with swords made of whip, being a mastermind that can manipulate all the anime characters into doing whatever she wants, literally omnipotent and can even become real by herself yet still completely loyal to her creator.
I meant whip made of swords.
Setsuna killed herself but didn't want a 3DPD whore to have her beloved. She was a good girl.
LEAVE METEORA ALONE
SHE A GOOD GIRL
SHE DINDU NUFFIN
Yes, he was still missing according the government. He is probably on Hime's rape dungeon.
