Thoughts on the show so far?

fantastic direction. the participation by the LN author (who is in charge of series composition) shows in the quality of the script.

I like it. AOTS. I really feel like I'm in a different world.

Not bad but based on the first episode i thought it would be more than this
Last 3 episodes were a bit too slow concidering they want to cram so much material into a single season

Yeah, and probably the episode I enjoyed the least was the last one. The comedy bits were not funny at all

I agree, a lot of people were worried about it because LN authors often don't make good anime, but it worked out really well.

What is her story anon?
last episode was really, really good

She is cute and a good girl.
I like it. Feels like the audience is missing some background lore though.

I like how every time I get a little bit of hope that this story could end happily, something else is revealed like how the fairies are basicly the bound souls of dead children that will eventually go insane as they remember their past lives if they don't die in combat first.
Now to wait for the shit to hit the fan again.

It is an overwhelmingly okay I guess show.
The setting is okay. The characters are okay. The plot is okay. Everything is just okay.
This causes any emotional moment to fall completely flat because just okay is not good enough when you want to be emotional or tragic.
How much of the LN are they adapting for this? It looks pretty interesting but I hate watching unfinished adaptations.

There's 5 volumes and so far they've adapted 2 volumes in 6 episodes, so they could speed up the pace a little to finish the whole thing, or finish at volume 4.

I agree, having some background lore really helps you appreciate the anime a lot more.
