The first one was intriguing but clearly still a draft and even had a different composer. Then the short series was actually solid, but instead of expanding on it they mostly retconned it and it felt poorly put together. I figure they were in some production hell and I blame Toei by default.
Still like it for the visuals and for one of my favorite Kugirie roles.
