Manga, Movie, and 2016 Griffith basically just look like women. 1997 Griffith just looks like an extremely handsome man coupled with maximum charisma, which does seem like an improvement over the ol' Jap "HURR HE'S SO BEAUTIFUL, HE LOOKS LIKE A WOMAN" trope to me.
