As I said, the first SAC animation was pretty mediocre. Inconsistent, static, off model most of the time, incorrect proportions and obviously cutting corners for the last batch of the show. 2nd GiG has a lot more consistency and at least Motoko manages to be on model for more than 10 episodes. It shows a lot more detail and has a bit more of directorial personality (how Motoko's entrance into the shop of her memories is shown is pretty impressive given the time of production).
The movie doesn't really count, since it's just 2 hours on one round, but I wasn't particularly impressed by it. Lifeless, if anything.
