I don't know where you dropped it, but you need to read NT16, perhaps to me the most Kamisato-ass kissing novel of them all, to understand how Touma and the others are able to get into the Windowless Building in NT18. If you don't want to then read this spoiler: Touma joins forces with Kamisato and his harem to fight Yuiitsu whose base is under the Windowless Building. Their battle creates a large hole underneath it..

NT17 is required to read not just because of how many plot points from the previous novel is picked up immediately afterwards but because it is actually a fun novel especially if you dislike Kamisato and want him taken down a notch in pretty much the most ironic way for his character possible, as well as Yuiitsu finally getting her shit pushed in.

Exposition has always been a problem for Kamachi, probably worse in BS because of how complex the systems are. It'd be cool if Kamachi put the "Facts" sections into Index, it's nice that he tells you which bits of the long-ass exposition bits are actually important.
