Maybe it's inappropriate to ask (or you won't read this) but from what I recall of these threads, pretty much everyone just thanks you before you leave, any particular reason you don't enjoy the fanbase? I feel bad that you don't enjoy translating the series since I've probably asked for it so many times in the past

Just to clarify, I think this is a great manga and I enjoy working on it. But I don't think it's the next coming ot Naruto, like I've seen some people hype about. It's probably gonna be psyren level.

Oh, I see, I guess I haven't seen the next Naruto stuff...I do think it's probably my favorite in the current Jump where I at least follow everything (as in, including current arcs of series where I really really love their old stuff like Gintama) but it still has a lot to go to actually be up there with my all-time favorite Jump series
I find the characters really endearing and I love the art style and I do try to hype the series up in my own way or support hype because I want Gotoge to get more confidence in herself to see what she can do when she's not afraid of being cancelled out of the blue (similar to early Gintama)...granted, as a filthy gaijin, none of this love really makes its way over there, I'm sure
Personally, I find the alternative about the Internet being super down on every new Jump series even more annoying

I haven't seen anyone talk about it like it's the "next Naruto", at this point it's just a modest success on a VERY simple formula, executed decently. Even among new battle series in Jump it's a clear 3rd in terms of popularity (although I enjoy it more than BNHA or BC these days). I don't think the conditions are right for there to be another Naruto-level series, anyway.

Neverland is overrated but still really good, the problem is that it most commonly gets compared to Death Note and if it's following that trajectory, it's going to get real shit real soon...it doesn't seem like the sort of series that has long-term potential, at least right now there don't seem to be those long-term goals, something like Kimetsu has the sort of goals that it could last for 70 volumes

Funny, I actually feel like Kimetsu isn't set up for the long haul - even though it's a battle series, we already know the endgame - it's the 6 upper demon moons, and then Muzan. The characters are already taking on the last lower demon moon. Even assuming a few twists and turns along the way, it feels it should only take the series a few more years to finish. (of course, battle series love to throw out new bullshit enemies to extend the plot, but I hope that won't happen here)

While I do agree that it's not set up for the long-haul, being a battle series it definitely has the potential...that said, the author originally sped everything up so clearly thinking she was going to get cancelled, so now she shouldn't have to do that
There's also a lot more interesting things that could be done in the universe besides just beelining for the end goal all the time, that said, a few years seems about ideal anyway, I don't want it to be a 70 volume series since none of those are known for ending on a high note
