I believe somewhere in the manga they were discussing the idea that pro heroes have to be prepared that a lot of people are familiar with their quirk, and that UA students should get used to the idea that they're in the spotlight. It was in the license exam during the UA crushing, maybe? It just means that a hero should just straight up be better than any adversary whether or not they know the hero's abilities.

I'm sure that reasoning is why some heroes like Eraserhead do their best to stay out of the media to maintain a sense of mystery, and also why All Might was so unsually powerful. He never really explained his quirk to anyone and was able to pass it off as generic super strength.
