I want to like Soul Eater. I truly do but it just feels like it's trying too hard to appeal to that teen demographic I'm simply no longer a part of.

I loved SE ad a teen, but as I grow up I see more and more problem with it.
Still really enjoyable, even if you just consider the character design and battle coreography.
Also bleach was never good, just okay, and was a fun ride up till SS, but unlike SE when you look back at it you can't see anything other than trash.

Is seriously misunderstanding just how unique and well-done Bleach was. Saying it's incoherent or a mess while maybe not untrue doesn't mean it wasn't good. I wish shit like Bleach or HxH wasn't praised to hell and back. But there just genuinely isn't much else to compare it to. You claim they weren't good but are unable to name something better.

its a bit like bleach, in the sense that the creators have very similar names and are both wacks that fucked up their series.

I find Okubo to be the worst writer though he's very good at coming up with interesting world premises and has a cool art style. but he fails completely at writing, its actually a bit sad how much he fucks up.

I just dont put Kubo as the worst since due to the whole editor drama and his illness, for the most part bleach was good. definitely angry at how much was unanswered in the end but what can you do.
Also he did a lot of subtle line-connections in a way that people even joked (but not really) that there were several lvl of readers considering how many hints they got. (example: the whole yammy comments when he first shows up)

Okubo is incapable of doing this, I feel he makes a lot of stuff up as he goes. Giriko being defeated was bullshit, Sky whales out of nowhere to drive plot shows exactly how bad he is at writing. Im pretty sure there was a lot more, but been a while.

Eruka and Free were the best.

The main cast as well the secondary were pretty great/good. At least in the beginning we had adults take on Medusa. The setting was interesting. I liked the comedy (remember Patty breaking a giraffe's neck?).

Villains ranged from great and interesting to at least quirky. I liked the whole concept of insanity and the stuff Kishin made people see just from being close to him. Fights had a good/great choreography.

The plot, how it was resolved and some potential lose ends do bring the manga down, but I still think it's worth a read.

I was dissatisfied too. A psycho exploding from his pent-up bloodlust sounds fun but that still felt like a waste. I didn't like how Mosquito at his most powerful jobbed to a literal tool without a single good fight (I think) either. Compare that to Mosquito's fight against Kid and the Free who stopped hitting himself with his own spells.
