if you can sculpt something of worth you can certainly do a decent paintjob (which the original image does), runner putty never turns out as good as they say it will anyways, you still need paint on top

Not to hard to get a fairly close match. The real problem with color matching it when you're painting just a spot, like in repair attempts. And the painted and original colors touch. If you're painting a whole panel or part that is seperated from others you dont have to get quite as close. You might want to repaint all the flesh aside from the face for consistency in glossiness though.

So I'm looking into buying some acrylic risers for my display, but not really sure how big I need them. I already know the height I'll need for my display, but I'm wondering about the length and depth. Is it okay to get something small to just sit under a base and try to be hidden, or should I try to get something to support the entire figure base? How do you guys use your risers?

So, who else went to Joint Festival in Tokyo Big Sight on the 6th of May (Dolls Party 36 -> Joint Festival 4)?

It was great, I bought my first 2 heads (01 and 10, as the new shape seems interesting for a catsmiled cutie, while the 01 suits the monobeno-style smug eye shapes I want to do) for custom MDD (aiming for a DDP new body when it comes out at the end of this year, hopefully), two pairs of eyes (Blue Rose Garden) and a random impulse buy (22-24mm, heart-shaped pupils, pink), a white neko set from CherryDoll, got a preorder on samedoru (sharkdolls) outfit and some misc stuff (loose socks for MDD size, some overknees, megane from HDP. Overall, this was great. Next year I would love t ocome with my own cutie and have a reserved desk for dressing her up and exchanging pictures with other participants. I loved how the private area was almost as big as the shops and several times as filled by cuteness.

Not sure if I will bother with sculpting at all. I'm thinking of a few methods like using different types of fabrics and some non-permanent glue so I could re-purpose the figure at some if necessary.
