That in itself isn't stupid, it's the fact that the word itself is awkward. Of all the weapons they could have chosen to name her after, they chose one with the word 'lard' in it.
Lard isn't exactly something you'd want to associate with a cute girl. That's why I used Rapier as an example. It's a totally legitimate weapon, but would you really want a girl whose name sounds like 'rape'?

Any character called Ichinose.

I know it's pronounced differently and is a totally legitimate Japanese name, but I can't help but read it as 'Itchy Nose'

That is only awkward for an English audience. Baselard and rapier are not English words.
To point out the lard in it is like Australian tourists making photographs of themselves next to German Ausfahrt sign posts. Sure, it's funny to them. But that doesn't make the word Aufahrt itself weird to people whose linguistic capacity doesn't end at the English language.

Also I think attaching generally unattractive names to cute, sexy girls has a charm to it. In Disgaea I named two of my mages Gretel and Bertha. Immediately what comes to mind is an old grandma and a really fat bitch, then you see them and they are just the most lithe, graceful little semen demons. I think it's kinda hot.
