>>
>>157118628
If anything, this would be good in the short term.

I imagine BookWalker will focus more on non-h doujinshi, a lot of which doesn't end up on sadpanda. Having digital releases could be really useful, as long as they don't start going after us with DMCA.
>>
>>157118628
Just vote no if you're that concerned.

They'd need to fix this before anything they did would be of any real worth.

>>

>>
>>157119279
Even if there were, not having DRM-free downloads means that anything you "buy" is not actually a purchase, but rather just renting things for an undefined time period.

A catalog subscription service that allows you to consume a ton of stuff (like Netflix etc) is pretty much the only decent form of digital rental (not to mention basically the only thing that's honest about it being rental upfront instead of pretending you'd be "buying" something when you're not).
>>
It's worthless because it could only legally offer original works. Consumer to consumer second hand sales are a weird gray area legally, but Nips have been cracking down on non-convention based sales for doujin.
>>
>>157119239
>>157119390
Totally. Too bad there isn't a website that lets you rent a huge amount of stuff for a low price like Netflix.
>>
>>157119479
Well technically Crunchyroll kinda does with their manga section but both the quality and the reading experience there are basically hot-ass trash, so I wouldn't actually recommend it to anyone.

I guess public libraries are going to remain in business for a while.
>>
>>157118628
Hard to tell, I hate Fakku with every fiber of my being and I would love to see it get some competition, but on the other side being a japanese company means it'll be harder for it to have things like uncensored manga.

Saddens me that Japan can't get it's shit together and make a Netflix/Steam-like service for porn without the need of an american-based jewish middleman.

>>
>>157119692
>but on the other side being a japanese company means it'll be harder for it to have things like uncensored manga.

More than that, it means straight-up not getting any, because as long as they're Japanese / based in Japan, they'll want to stay within the country's rules, which means no selling uncensored content, ever.

So you kind of need a non-Japanese entity if you want to do any of that.

Plus Japan in general has never been particularly good at this whole digital distribution thing (not that the rest of the world fares all that much better overall), so I wouldn't hold my breath for any killer digital services from over there directly.

It's more the other way around, scanlators come and apply to work for FAKKU.

>host a shitty site by any manga viewer's standard

What exactly do you mean by this? Because as far quality of the content and the reading experience are concerned, it should beat pretty much anything else out there (even if I'm somewhat biased in saying this since those are the areas I personally work on).

>Plus the whole wani fiasco that was catalyzed by it.

It was the other way around, actually. The Wani takedowns came first, and FAKKU was among the recipients. That's what made Jacob contact Wani in the first place, which then turned into a publishing deal.

FAKKU has a rather low number of translators, so they generally have less choice in terms of what to work on. Full-time employment (onsite or remote) is also basically the only thing that's hired for, so just doing it occasionally isn't really a possibility.

Doing a quick ballpark analysis we'd probably be talking about 2-3 chapters a day on average (assuming 20 days of work per month and a steady output).

Also technically speaking there is a possibility of part-time work if you were to work as an external contributor (this would basically mean working on doujins). Though you still need to obviously qualify - you should be able to produce solidly accurate translations in preferably pretty decent English.

It's the latest hot meme among the "trying really hard to fit in" crowd, complaining about completely normal use of line breaks. Well, technically the "real" "reddit spacing" would be to put a double line break after every literally every sentence, which can look a bit silly for normal continuous sentences, but even that has never been some sort of uniquely reddit thing. But by this point even this seems to have been practically forgotten and thus you end up with people complaining about literally any double line breaks. It's best to just ignore it.

Well, it's certainly true in the sense that both used to be pretty substandard pirate sites that got an opportunity to go legit and ended up better for it, though there is a key difference in that FAKKU actually cares about quality, which you unfortunately can't really say about CR.

>>157122385
>you are literally denying using Reddit

Err, no? I do have a reddit account, but it has like a couple dozen posts, pretty much all of them related to times when there's been CR-related hub-bub and I've been there to grill them for it. Beyond that, I pretty much actively dislike Reddit's tree discussion model and greatly prefer 4chan's flat model over it, which also shows in the fact that my posts on 4chan by this point probably number in tens of thousands.

I've also been here for over a decade, so I would say I have a pretty darn good idea about how people write and have written here over the years.

>Besides, EME is just an API, how good or bad the DRM is depends on the implementation.

The problem is that the whole approach is antithetical to the idea of open web. Before EME, anyone could theoretically write a browser from scratch and be fully web-compatible. EME breaks this because now in order to have a "fully web-compatible" browser you need to make confidential deals with DRM vendors in order to bundle a black box into the thing, basically giving said DRM vendors control over "acceptable browsers".

This alone is pretty bad, but it also introduces an potentially really awful slippery slope. Right now, EME only applies to <video>, but there's no stopping from various parties from eventually demanding it for <audio> (music needs protection too!), <img> (images need protection too!), all the way to things like <p> (text needs protection too!), and by the end of it, the open web will effectively be dead and we'll be left with a closed web instead.

And the compatibility thing is a serious matter too. If you just use actual open stuff like JS or even WASM, things will just work anywhere they're supported for practically free (dev time notwithstanding). But if you want to effectively use EME and support many things, you need to basically strike deals with multiple DRM vendors (Microsoft, Google, Adobe, Apple....) to extend your compatibility, and you're still going to end up excluding anyone using a smaller browser or anything else that no DRM vendor supports.

Bottom line is, HTML DRM is awful in pretty much every conceivable way and I will never support it.

Sandy Anderson was a Scottish curler. He was the second man on the team that represented Scotland at the 1962 Scotch Cup, the world men's curling championship at the time. He and the team of skip Willie Young, third John Pearson, and lead Bobby Young curled out of the Airth Bruce Castle and Dunmore Curling Club in Falkirk, Scotland.
The Sydney International Equestrian Centre (SIEC for short) is the facility which was used to host equestrian events during the 2000 Summer Olympics.
The centre is located 45 kilometres from Sydney's business district and the harbour at Saxony Road, Horsley Park.
Construction began in 1997 and was finished in 1999. Not to be confused with a similar venue, Horseworld Sportsworld Equestrian Stadium in Maraylya.

Daiz is member of the fansubbing cartel and notorious shill. He has a script that notifies him whenever he's mentioned on /a/ so he can jump to the defense of whatever autistic crusade he's currently on, hence why mentioning him constantly became a meme. He was involved with pushing 10bit encoding, which was controversial at the time due to compatibility issues and being unfriendly to low-performance pcs, and is affiliated with fakku, a jewish website that almost ruined /a/'s beloved secret hentai doujin website to make a quick buck.

>>
>>157127275
You basically got it right. The reason you see so much misdirected anger about it is that people simply don't have the timeline right, thinking that the takedowns followed the publishing deal and not the other way around (ie. what actually happened).

>>
What is wrong with you clowns? Are you actually fucking unironically blaming Daiz for making text more readable so your ADHD-ridden ass manages something more than a tweet?

This is one of the most basic concepts of typography: long shit is broken into smaller shit. Open up a book and you'll be amazed: one line of text on average consists of 60 characters, one paragraph is one consistent thought (idea) and indentation is there to separate paragraphs. Since indentation often doesn't work on the internet, people leave an empty line instead. What the fuck is so hard to grasp?

Same with FAKKU. They go full-blown autism mode when it comes to ensuring the quality of their releases and you pathetic fucks are buttblasted. They don't cuck you with DRM, they don't use some autismal LEL DIS BUK CONDAINS A MONSTER ecks dEe, and they work with source material. Yes, they DMCA their shit, but as much as everyone hates it, they're a business now, not a charity. You don't give away the products of your work for free, do you? And it's not like you can't pirate it anyways, because SURPRISE it's DRM-free.

Yes, he sounds like a shill, but he probably can't help it. That's what you get when you try to sound ``professional" and that's what he does when he puts his trip on.

Fuck you Jacob and fuck you Daiz for purging my favorites though. And fuck you for letting those shits from Project Hentai get rights for Yamatogawa, Yuzuki N' etc first.

There's a difference between (direct rips of) legitimately available products vs scanlations that don't have any legal equivalent products available. They might be same from a legal standpoint (ie. illegal), but you should be able to understand what I'm talking about here. The takedowns FAKKU sends on its own are basically solely for the first category.

>>
>>157128048
why are you trip fagging right now
>>
>>157132646
>/pol/
It's /bant/ now.
>>
>>157132692
I still don't understand the purpose of this board.
>>
>>157132722
/pol/ was 99% shitposting and it is supposed to divert some of that.
>>
>>157132722
It was the only red board with flags so people used it for shitposting instead of political discussion.
>>
>>157132722
It's /int/ for people who don't actually know enough geography to post on /int/
>>
>>157119131
Let's hope so, can't wait for Daiz to kill himself
>>
>>157119670
It'd be great if Audible went the way of Japanese Audible, where you can download and listen to an unlimited amount of books monthly.
>>
>>157132999
That sounds sad in some way
>>
>>157132646
I just went to check out /b/ for the first time in like 5 years and it seems they are having fun there >>>/b/732389226.
>>
>>157133226
I'm ok with this.
>>
>>157133226
Good for them
>>
>>157133226
Looks like swaglord discovered kemono friends.

Daiz please tell the faggots in charge of picking books to translate to VARY THAT SHIT UP.

I download 1300 motherfucking books by fakku, and TWO were to my interest.

Less painfully boring lovey dovey vanilla, more mind break, mind control, rape, corruption please and thank you.
>>
>>157133837
Fakku's not for you, degenerate.
>>
>>157133945

Fakku has the rights to all wani shit, the overwhelming majority of which involves rape, yet they don't translate any of that shit.

AND NOW NOBODY FUCKING DOES. Fuck fakku and fuck wani.

>tfw caught and indexed everything on cafe again

Wew, that sucked dick but it's worth it. You never know when the apocalypse might arrive these days.
>>
>>157123965
that fastest way to make something fucking stupid a fucking thing is do constantly bring it up to people who woudn't have known what you were talking about otherwise
>>
>>157119239
>sees something that threathens FAKKU
>proceeds to post in 4chan to make it look bad
Fuck you Daiz
>>
>>157134667
I'll never forgive Fakku and by that I mean that fucking Jewcob for what he did to Sadpanda.
>>
Did Fakku ever put up anything by Mochi or Henreader?
>>
>>157136317
Yes.
>>
>>157132294
Spoiler tags aren't the epik surprise boxes you think they are, "quality" poster.
>>
>>157137787
What did they publish?
>>

>Modern DRM doesn't have disadvantages
Please stop sucking tech industry's dicks so much and go kill yourself. There is nothing about DRM that isn't a disadvantage.
>>
>>157138130
Either go to their site or look at the Publisher's spreadsheet in the /h/ thread.
>>
>>157134260
It's really easy if you do know what you are doing or go the site that automatically indexes everything and provides it as a download from cafe. You aren't in or at the right places.
>>
>>157133837
>>157134063
You're idiots and only use emotional reasoning rather than objective evidence.

[NO LOLI DOUJINSHI]
STOP GETTING MY HOPES UP AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
>>
>>157138130
They've published a single Henreader work that somehow made its way into a Comic X-Eros release, and for some reason his only other product available is a fucking skateboard. No luck on Mochi
Of course the bald jew would like to convince you otherwise, but you can count on a single hand the amount of loli works they've had to publish since they were in the magazines, and every one of them is hidden unless unblocked as "controversial content". i wouldn't wait anytime soon for any uncensored loli tankoubon either since Fakku's public is a parade of vapid, vanilla gargling faggots that can't even stomach a "forced" scene or tame shit like netorare, much less prepubescent girls in the nude
