I was a freshman in college when the MA arc was entering the final fight with Garou, I'm about to graduate now. It's been what? Like 20 chapters? 5 per year and we had a couple 6 month wait periods now. Murata's version will take even longer, in that time it only covered the Boros arc and the very start of the MA arc and it's been like 2 years now of the tournament and random monster invasions.

Orochi honestly makes for a good addition as the "ilpressive looking boss", unlike Psykos. It gives more hype to the MA and is a way to surprise people when Black Sperm and Garou will end up being the real ultimate threats.

That also makes the MA arc a real "ultimate war between heroes and monsters", which ONE probably intended to do in the webcomic already but it was lacking.

I think ONE added Orochi just so he seems like a big deal right now for people who only know about the Redraw. I kinda bet Garou will kill him and then the whole deal will go as we know it, showing even better just how much stronger Garou got.
