Aren't gods in this series acting way too high and mighty considering that they suposedly lost their power when leaving from heaven and come to the mundane world?

Its something disturbed me from the beginning of the franchise. Basically they were in heaven bored of being revered and come down to the world...to be revered.

More than "coming humans" it feels more like they come to be revered even more directly. Its kind of surprising that there isn't any "Kill the gods" cult or something.
