It's nice seeing a proactive MC, especially this early on. Every other MC were purely reactive at first, only dueling when necessary or when someone messes with them or their friends, but Yusaku is actively seeking out the villains and fighting them. On the first episode no less.

The Knights are his enemy from the get go, so he has to be proactive. I like that he took in the Ai just to basically force the knights to keep fighting him which is a nice way to get him into that plot.

They are likely people who saw first hand the damage the data material and cyverses did unchecked and were scared by it emotionally and physically. Cyberses themselves were manafested from humanity's greed and Yusaku is somehow half cyberse. Cyverse is probably like Astral World. KoH might be a group with good intentions but do bad things to justify it. SOL is probably the same, a group with good intentions for humanity where the ends justify the means. They don't care about the Cyverse world or AI and want to better humanity with Data Material.

The thing with Yoshida is almost of his villains are all good guys who are usually being manipulated by someone behind the curtain or they do bad things for good reasons and get redeemed later on. The pure evil villains are usually bland and get killed off. Also expect some sort of tag duel against the final boss of the arc and everyone dying except Yusaku at the very end.
