I still can't believe the amount of quality Kyoani invested into this 2-cour show, plus they really adapted the mangaka's weird punchlines well too. They don't click very well in the manga because of the amateur-looking art style but thanks to their art and animation style Kyoani managed to really land them all.
It's too bad they're adapting mediocre LNs now, their manga adaptations are almost always much more enjoyable than the manga source material.

There's a reason the initial release was DVD only.The movies were mastered at 576p so even 720p is an upscale and worse yet the BD release isn't a very good upscale either, as in it's terrible Q-TEC shit. The ANE release uses a few post processing filters to smooth things out a bit and ends up looking better at 720p than the stock BD looks at 1080p.

I genuinely like Ufotable's approach to digital effects and composite. The CGs a bit much at times, but the studio has managed to capture a certain stylized contemporary Hollywood blockbuster look for 2D animation. It brings a sense of cinematic polish rarely found in animation which is cool. Reports from the Katsugeki Touken Ranbu preview indicates the studio has upped its game once again in their animation and digital work, I'm really looking forward to it.
