I don't really think there's any fixing Fugo. He's similar to Abbacchio in terms of having a hot temper, (even though that only really comes up once) and him staying behind instead of getting on the boat made it seem serious. Leave him as-is, a minor character.

I think Giorno and Trish could've been cool if aspects of them had been fused together - like Giorno being the one that the group had to protect, but growing stronger and more autonomous, proving himself as a loyal and useful member of the gang instead of a walking Mcguffin.

Pros: The good translation makes the characters more compelling, particularly Mista, Doppio, Narancia and Abacchio, consistently good stands, the artwork is really good, the minor-villain cast is the best in the series
Cons: INCREDIBLY repetitive, literally every fight after the beginning is the crew being attacked by assassins, making some speech about resolve and killing them, a bland and shitty MC who never even talks to his companions, a bland and shitty girl who never even talks to her companions, the utter lack of downtime makes the tone really samey, Gold Experience having consistently bland and unsatisfying fights and power-ups compared to the other stands

Fugo being a traitor shouldn't have been cut, Araki had an actual arc planned for him but scrapped it. Trish should have just done more, what was there was good but there wasn't enough of it. As for Giorno, he becomes sort of one note after a while and fades into the background until Rome. The Part needed to be longer to accomodate the cast fully, and it might have actually been planned to b a lot longer if Araki wasn't depressed at the time.

BW. That said I read physical so that might be dealbreaker, there really is a huge difference between reading print and screen. The shitty Shueisha coloured versions are done specifically for screen reading which is why it's easier to follow but that problem doesn't exist for physical copies.
