Sanji attempts to heads towards and save his family but is restrained by the genie.

The bullets pierce his body, but he is unwounded and attacks Luffy.
Pedro and Jinbe attempt to stop him, but he turns his entire body into mochi and easily evades them. He captures Luffy.

Despite being restrained by Katakuri, Luffy stretches his arm to its fullest and shows Big Mom the broken picture.
Big Mom loses her senses and lets out a strange yell.
Guests lose conciousness one by one and almost all the siblings surrounding the Vinsmoke family collapse.
Sanji breaks the candy restraining his family.

At the same time as Big Mom loses her senses, she drops her knees to the ground.
After confirming that she scraped her knees and is bleeding, Bege aims the KX launchers at her.
Nami and Carrot hand each Vinsmoke a capsule that appears to hold their raid suits.

Yeah but it was because Crocodile's natural weakness was water (even more than typical DF users). It made sense you'd find him in a desert country where water was rare. It was the first logia Luffy fought and it was a great fight.

Enel's fight was really pure luck on Luffy's side because he had the one fruit that countered him.

But then, since logias are by definition amongst the most powerful DF powers, how do you keep them relevant? You can't have Luffy figure out their weaknesses every time, that'd just be repetitive. Haki is a good idea because that way Oda can make both fighters duke it out and don't have to create an extremely convenient situation for the protags everytime, which would just make logias users seem like complete morons.

And it allows for more varieties of fights, like Zoro, who is 100% about sword techniques, to fight a snow girl, or Luffy, who is immune to punches, to fight characters with different fighting styles.

I think the more recent issue with it has been characters who can coat their entire bodies or large areas of their body in it for extended periods of time. The result of such an ability means that the opponent just has to possess greater haki to get through the armor, which isn't very interesting and looks rather unappealing.

Ideally coating yourself in CoA haki should be taxing and require some notable level of concentration to perform and maintain, thus allowing characters to coat their entire body in haki, should they see fit to, but having a major enough draw back to ensure it isn't abused and their opponents have methods with which to deal with it. That also opens up ways for weaker opponents to deploy strategies to distract opponents so they can strike their exposed areas.

I've never understood this "Jinbe joins the crew" meme. It always felt to me that the Straw Hat crew was complete when it split up before the timeskip and reunited after. The finale between Cracker and Luffy was rather clever on Luffy's part, it's just odd that Cracker suddenly became unable to pierce Luffy when he's shown cutting him initially. Perhaps you can chalk that up to Luffy not fully guarding on that first cut or Cracker's sword being more adept at cutting over slicing. Either way, I'm primarily hoping for some interesting fights with the remaining combatants at the tea party once the flashback is over. There's a lot of interesting fruits about and it'd be a shame not seeing the full potential of some of them.

See, I actually really enjoyed the fight and how it ended. I liked seeing both combatants having a strategy, even if Luffy's relied on having Nami there. It put the commander's strength into perspective, at least in my mind, as it's made clear that Luffy would have most likely lost without her there.

The end of the fight was also great in that it happened due to a mistake made by Cracker who was shown to be both exhausted and exasperated that he was being pushed this far. He likely hasn't had much experience in a fight that went that long and thus his mistake, which required Luffy to register and capitalize on, was quite cathartic.

As you said though, it was a bit odd that Cracker was shown being able to cut through Luffy's Gear 4 armor and yet from there on out we didn't really see him harming. That and him not going for Nami. It could have been fine if they'd shown him doing that and either Nami or Luffy doing something to stop him, that's definitely a mistake in my eyes.

However, I can give it a pass overall, given that you could say that he played more defensively once he realized it was a 2v1 as he seemed pretty risk averse initially, but it would have been nice to see him get some damage in.

1. You have to swallow the Devil Fruit to gain its power as said by Buggy, and thus presumably you won't die from simply tasting another Devil Fruit, you have to actually swallow it and attempt to gain the 2nd ability to explode.

I considered giving up on OP during Dressrosa as it was beginning to drag severely and since post time skip i had been underwhelmed at the Arcs given but I have to say now that Dressrosa is finished and you can read it all one chapter after the next without breaks it is a genuinely good Arc with good story telling, a good villain (I do think it was a kind of missed opportunity though not to flesh out Doffy as having redeeming aspects such as love for his family) and good foreshadowing.

Dressrosa suffered from week breaks and as such everyone suffered with lethargy.

I liked the idea that his willingness to sacrifice himself for Luffy's sake will be his big issue to deal with in his character arc moving forwards. That, teamed with learning to be a bit more open to following his own desires over prioritizing the desires and well being of others.

Even recently, when discussing his plans to defect from Big Mom with his crew, that willingness to prioritize others and to sacrifice himself for Luffy was brought up.

If nothing else I could only imagine him dying quite late on in the story. Most of the other Straw Hats have some end goal that they're directly aiming for and killing them off would be a massive narrative blow. Jinbei on the other hand has already fulfilled one of his major ambitions by joining up with Luffy, which goes hand in hand with his other major goal in the form of Fishman Island being safe and accepted. That dream can happen without him being alive to see it through as he could leave it in Luffy's hands.
