Mahouiku is, in my books, in the same 'mindless but great entertainment' as Mirai Nikki. I loved them both. Sure, there are times where the edgy route is taken just for the sake of edge in both of them, but I think that's fine because edge is precisely what I wanted from them. Mahouiku surprised me with how consistent the writing was and how they managed to have plot devices be useful in more than one situation.
