>a silent voice
good taste anon. healing finally came.
I also have a bunch of ghibli movies and a Cowboy Bebop boxset but too lazy to dig them out
>All that Haruhi
>DETECTIVE CONAN S2
I have a DVD of Yojimbo that I shoplifted from a Barnes & Noble. It's a lot like anime if you don't look at the screen.
I'm willing to trade it for the Australian version of Beyblade 2002 Blader Project Vol. 4.
I'd post manga too, but that would be like 9 pictures.
some of us have big boy money and choose to spend it on goods and services, anon
You're right, I didn't look close enough. I nearly bought them myself. Glad I waited for the reviews
>some of us have big boy money and choose to spend it on goods and services, anon
Maybe you should spend it on something useful instead, not on physical copies of anime you could already have on your HDD.
I like to give back to the companies that provide me with something I enjoy. I've also got a shit-ton downloaded, but no desire to watch it. I go through my BDs regularly.
You should buy what you actually want and what benefits you, and because you actually want it, not out of a sense of false responsibility. I have VHS here and can't even watch them any more because I don't have a VHS player. I also have DVDs here and can't watch them any more because I don't have a DVD physical drive in my computer. BDs will at some point be outdated too. Physical media are completely useless, take up space and collect dust. If I buy anything it's other types of merchandise, but I do so for myself alone, not in order to whore for attention on the internet.
>If I buy anything it's other types of merchandise, but I do so for myself alone, not in order to whore for attention on the internet.
I also don't do so to "support" anyone, but I do so because I want the kind of merchandise. If it's shit I don't buy it.
>Maybe you should spend it on something useful instead
I don't buy out of duty, it's because I want the physical media, which also happens to show the distributor that it's a desired product. I also own the Monogatari novels, and a lot of Junji Ito + Inio Asano manga. Sure, I could consume all of that online, but I don't, because I want it as a part of my personal collection.
Cool that you don't want to do that. I do, whatever. You probably do something I'd consider a waste of money too. It just doesn't happen to be buying anime.
>tfw Ideon AND Samurai Flamenco will never get a blu-ray released in the states
It's not fair, the only show I really like that has one is Turn A Gundam.
this is my manga. i also have mikubon but it's not on my shelf
>bought entire stock of local anime store that closed down in 2002
>it is all VHS
>half is dubbed (because dubbed was more popular before DVDs gave both audio tracks)
>don't even own a VCR anymore
I am old and have massive archive but nyaa was really convenient.
Shamefully it was quicker for me to re-download a specific episode than to find it in the disc spools or binders.
Does digital hording count?
Here's my backlog
Missing from this pic are the two huge yuru yuri BD box sets.
Transfer your DVD backups into hard drives, they're pretty cheap nowadays compared to before. It's what I did.
I used to rent and burn blockbuster DVDs. Before that it was tapes.
>Transfer your DVD backups into hard drives, they're pretty cheap nowadays compared to before. It's what I did.
Those discs are just the pre-2011 stuff.
All current stuff is on the media server hard drives. Smaller 480P copies for loading up tablets when working out of town, and 720p for local viewing on the TVs throughout the house.
I honestly don't even use the 480p anymore but a friend likes them.
Don't mind the others. I'm actually quite impressed someone had the time to make hard copies before nyaa went down. If you weren't part of a private tracker group, this is a old fashioned idea a few would bother to commit.
It's sad how many Locomotion and Animax licenses were never released in DVD here. I wish some day Universal releases Lain in DVD with its Argentine dub that Locomotion produced.
>Why the hell don't you use Blu-ray?
Because BD didn't exist when this was done.
I have a BD burner on one of the media PCs but its never actually been used. Hard drive cost and capacity caught up and then surpassed optical discs so there was no need to burn anymore.
If more BD has English sub, I would buy them a lot more.
Just started collecting and it already cost me a fortune
i will do nice
spictrackers are still going
What do you do about subs for your physical titles?
I'd love to start actually buying someday, but it seems wrong to pay for an inferior product when I can grab a superior one in a few hours for free.
Do any of you add fansubs on your BD disks? I've looked around, but I've never heard of anyone doing something like that.
Only finished part 1 of Vampire Bund.
I think I can manage
>pic from 2012
>amount has tripled since then
>still on a dual core PC from 2008
Stho? That's nothing close to what a russian would have. Remove yourself.
>Mamoru Hosoda stuff
The only thing that sticks out like a sore thumb is GitS 2.0, literally the worst version of the first movie. Treat your ass to the "25th anniversary" BR version. (in quotation marks because it was a 25th anniversary of the manga, not the movie.)
this is just you being poor. you probably don't know but some of us have extra money after spending money on necessities and useful things so we decide to spend money on luxury goods.
>Hidamari Sketch S2,3 and 4
I will never not hate the fact that only S1 is available in Europe
Also, my collection
Not him but it is fucking great. I'm not a big fan of mecha or robo but it is one of my favorite series. God tier OP/ED.
I'm not a big anime guy, much manga library is much larger than anime shown here.
Why the fuck would I buy some shit cheap plastic disks, when I can get a better quality BD rip, well not from Nyaa any longer, but you get the point.
Also, none of the money you spend on these BD's goes to Japan, so enjoy supporting trash companies like Funishit.
Recently started buying manga, here is me humble collection
I'm stocked up on about 10TBs of anime so I'm good for a while. Has anyone actually made good progress in their backlog because of both Bakabt and Nyaa going down?
Aren't the BDs like a stupid amount of money, something like $500 for the entire thing? I know the reason it took so long for EG to sub them was because they had a problem getting the BDs due to how pricey they are.
if i remember correctly its about ¥5000 per volume with each volume having 2 episodes, 3 if its a 24 episode series so yeah very expensive damn.
i know autism is a powerful thing but paying that much for some shitty show is insane
>¥5000 yen per disk with only two episodes on each one
I mean I'm glad we finally got the BDs and we don't have to rely on those dreadful /m/subs version but damn. Who allowed this to happen?
Only recently got my PS4 so I don't have that many BDs yet. Left DVDs at my parent's place because I'd rather download/buy the BD version rather than dealing with the shit quality.
Recently watched FMP, I've never seen the first season and fumoffu and TSR are still good.
I don't believe that is true.
At least the art style looks nice
I really wish the rest of Yoshiyuki Tomino's shows would get released on BD. Zambot 3 would look amazing, especially the scenes in space.
I mostly just have manga that I bought for 100yen a piece at book off.
I have 2 burned CD's with EoE on them I've had since I was 16 and when my parents die I'll inherit a couple of Ghibi DvD's
I salute your dedication. I've been wanting to do this but between the inflated price and the shipping I just can't. I've only imported artbooks/doujinshi so far.
Damn, I should be more serious about moorunes studies.
>not finishing your backlog by now
Yeah, that's why I buy a bunch of them every time I'm in Japan. At this point I'm generally fine with raws but it's still pretty nice to be able to just zoom in by moving my head towards the paper.
