Some of it is very good and I like animation in general. Plus it's fun, harmless nonsense. There's a great juvenile sense of coolness about many of the characters that I find honest and endearing.

Because when I was a kid the best cartoons on TV were anime. I liked shows where the storyline actually progressed, the stakes got higher, and eventually there was some sort of conclusion. The american shows were mostly just episodic junk and were either action with no overarching story or completely pointless "comedy" fluff. I got up every Saturday morning to watch Digimon, Escaflowne, and Medabots and I branched out from there..
