I think it was edited into a movie and I think I watched that in school in fifth grade but I'm not sure. Since getting into the books I've been meaning to give the series a real watch.

I haven't seen Oz, but I did see Puss in the Boots when I was a kid, and it was excellent. Still is.

since we're on the topic of old anime, had a VHS of this when I was little too, didn't watch it a whole lot growing up but I watched a couple episodes recently and it's pretty cute

I wasn't hating on it, I'm just amazed that a show had CG that early on. and that it was used for a Kansas farm flyover of all things.
