He looks sort of cute sometimes, but yeah, the shallow part of me wishes he were a more attractive guy, maybe the sort that has a cute face hidden by a shitty haircut or something. Kaoru doesn't even seem like the type of character you're supposed to self insert as because he's definitely got a personality of his own. The love interest in Swing Girl is superior, looks wise, within being overly handsome.
