I'm not sure how the second season is going to go down though.

I read the manga and basically everything between where Season 1 and when season 2 was announced was about lizard people getting invaded and the story basically follows the story of one of them almost exclusively rather than what's going on with ains and his minions.

I mean, the only memorable interaction I can remember was when albedo scolds cocytus for losing the battle with the lizards to then spy on them and find the leader planting his seed in a scaleless albino shaman one which albedo then says she wants ains to do it to her.

Then ains basically theatens them with the intent to subjugate them after the next battle.

This is something that could be done in two episodes or three at most, but could easily ruin the series if they drag it out over the entire season.

So lizardmen arc 3-4 episodes the rest for vol 5 and 6.

The thing is the overall focus on Ainz is alot less and all books after that are telling more the story of people from the NW dealing with Ainz. Of course you still have Ainz perspective on some things.

The good thing about that is the world gets alot more fleshed out experiencing it from the people living their.

The manga will soon step into a probably year or more long buildup because of book 5 and 6.

I wish ains wasn't so indifferent to everything. I get that his mind has somehow been warped in the process of becoming the overlord, but it's a bit strange for him to roleplay as an adventurer for personal entertainment (it has to be) but then completely ignore the opportunities to step up as a hero.

Like the heroes he adventured with, he supposedly did not develop sufficient kinship with them to resurrect them. And yet the writer still thought it was worth developing a back story of the boy turning out to be a girl who had binded her boobs down to blend in with the group whose big sister was in some kind of trouble.
