Archer has no reason to do this. The only reason he really cares about is an end to his own existence. More, he knows it WON'T work! Even if he flats-out fucking kills Shirou, he's still damned. He's still sold his soul.

You have to understand, his faint hope is 'If I manage to kill myself, I might destroy all of reality from the paradox'. But on some level, Archer knows it ain't going to work, so he's not really serious about it.

According to the weird metaphysics, it's not really Archer. The 'core' Archer is actually in the Throne. When he's sent out, they photocopy him and dispatch the copy.

This means that Archer, depressingly, doesn't actually learn anything from the Fifth War. (The copy that's been sent out is annihilated after the event draws to a close.)

My personal theory as to why Archer can suddenly continue fighting despite being mana-depleted and being stabbed by both Shirou and Gilgamesh? I think he gets a power-boost because he's acting as a Counter-Guardian again (i.e. destroying the corrupted Grail). It's like "Okay, I'm on the clock again."
