This is Char. He originally just wanted to take revenge on the Zabi family for killing his father and destroying his family, but he soon found another goal that followed his father's teachings; guiding humanity outside of Earth so it could evolve into "Newtypes", the next stage in human evolution. After getting his revenge, he acted under the name of "Quattro Bajeena" as a revolutionary soldier in an attempt to flee from his real goal. But after he met a young boy who reminded him of his rival, he decided to reveal to the world that he was Char Aznable and also the son of Zeon Zum Deikun, and used diplomacy to realize his dreams. But after suffering a crushing defeat and almost dying, his faith in humanity reached rock bottom. 6 years later, he dropped a meteor on Earth in an attempt to cause a nuclear winter and make humanity leave the planet while also getting rid of the people he considered "the root of all wars", the people dwelling on Earth. The meteor wasn't enough, so he decided to drop an even bigger one, but he was eventually stopped by his rival from the war, and revealed that he resented him for killing his mother figure, and that it was the source of his hate. The meteor was eventually miraculously stopped, albeit at the price of their lives.
