You know Kumami is a genius who is good at everything, and happens to work hard on ping pong as well.

Zakuro is the only pure hard work, and ace beat her. All the other top ones are both talent and hard work, including ace herself.

Ace's issue in the show wasn't related in any way with lack of hard work, it was lack of decent competition to give motivation to go over her limits and the fact that she was minmaxing with optimal techniques instead of having fun and having a more diverse moveset.

Not to mention Koyori isn't a psychopath, so she shouldn't get doki doki with Agari crying in another room. And Agari isn't one to be satisfied with just preventing a love-game but still having zero chances of ever winning.

This match has been a mess, I'm glad the anime decided to focus up to Mozuyama.

And the author also fucked up with those rules that make the final matches predictable since they'll always play all matches and eventually win. Unless those are actual rules.
