It's horribly bland while awkwardly trying to stand out. The scarecrow joke is way too overused. Eating books was an attempt at being quirky and interesting that was quickly dropped. The dorm/cafe setting seems completely pointless and was only added because other shows did it better. The jealous girl they introduced is just bitchy. I gave it a good try but found myself counting the minutes all the way.

I don'[t realyl see what is wrong with the pacing beyond them not jumping to the theater thing immediately. Otherwise every half episode has a focus. The character interactions vary. Mayuki of course hasn't even spoken to Yua, especially as she isn't part of the theater association yet. Otherwise they get along fine. The only thing I would really like to see is more history between some of the characters. Other than Yua and Aki having generally known each other, I would have liked to see Hinako or someone else's childhood involve someone else.
