Kaiji is like Jonouchi (tons of luck and goes from bad player to a pretty good one) and Akagi like Yugi(natural talented and a genius even in stuff he is playing for the first time).

As for Yugi and Akagi, well I think it's kinda funny how people who went against Akagi sometimes said that its like he's possessed by a demon so thats why he has such good luck- when Yugi was /actually/ possessed.

Although obviously fkmt and takahashi are trying to portray/achieve different things through their characters.

Cause the paid scans are so shit you're better off reading the raws than that
Cause it would be quite interesting to see what scenes the anime omitted compared to the manga
Like I watched S2 anime and read the manga side by side and I found it to be pretty fucking faithful, just removed some Fukumoto metaphors, infographs for the gambles and two scene(one involving hyodou's prologue speech which is referenced in the OP and detailed sakazaki backstory scene)

Theres this whole thing that like, S2 was probably only made to promote the upcoming kaiji live action movie (that wast all that good) and there were never any plans for an actual season 3. Although I am grateful for the panchiko animations- really wanted to see Kazuya.

I've kinda noticed fkmts works getting a lot of live action treatment- the Gin to Kin series that started airing in January is actually pretty neat.
