I really like the anime but the opening is no more than "pretty good".
The song fits perfectly for the final battle but the opening could have been better.

I consider the song to be well made and perfect for the show, the lyrics are constructed to sound inspiring and invoke passion and motivation while the structure of the song itself is made to sound uplifting and full of energy and it has a very noticeable buildup to the chorus which is supposed to feel climactic and spontaneous.

I really don't see what's so generic about it unless your definition of generic is that it just sounds like j-pop
