Firstly they are expensive as fuck. I have some expensive hobbies, even more expensive then figure collecting. But nothing is on par with fucking doll fags. /toy/ regularly has a BJD thread so I would recommend that if you want to learn more.

Had to send Amiami a manual PayPal payment for my latest order since they asked for that in their last email to me thanks to payment issues. Did that Thursday night and its now Monday and there's no confirmation email from them saying they got the payment. Should I send them a follow up email asking if they got it? There's always a chance they go for something bigger, but there's not much to speculate about without seeing a prototype or even having information about its size.

Just made an average of all of their releases, including Bayonetta, and it's on average 13.282, which isn't too far off from the average between 10 and 15k, so it's still accurate.
I also think 5k isn't extremely relevant once you're over 10k, but that's just me personally. A 10-20k margin would be retarded, but when their figures are all in that 13k range, I don't see what's wrong with a 5k margin.

Maybe there was some internal problems with the art team in charge of the 1/6 dolls, in because of this they keep delaying the release of the planned figures, meanwhile the team in charge of the robutt line (including Optune,the jap guy who created them) keep pushing forward, prove of this is they released like 10+ figures in a short time. You don't have to go full autistic, just making a simple styrofoam base for your figures is enough, I used my PC tower styrofoam for this - pic related.

Theres something inexplicably fun about giving your figures a "world" of their own to occupy and interact with beyond a simple desk or figure stand, the possibilities for fun scenarios, scenes and poses are endless too.

Maybe you can one day you can also realize you can learn new skills as long as you're dedicated and willing to work for it, but whether you do or don't, it doesn't invalidate any of the time people put into making any of this. You just don't see all of their failures and take success for granted.

I work with art, so obviously I know professionals who do the same thing, and I also have friends who work with coding.
If you actually knew anyone like that yourself, you'd see how people who are successful draw/code every single day, and how much they've failed to get to the point where they could do it professionally. It's always easier to just call everything talent and save yourself the horrible thought of having to do hard work though.
