Just read the manga.
Also, the author actually started a new manga, and itkinda sucks.

Agreed, Claymore need a rework or at the very least a second season.

Didn't the manga do a Lost/Westworld plot turn?

My main concern with it was that it consisted entirely of battle after battle.
Almost no world-building, barely any character progression, and what little of it happened was off-screen.
Claymore has an interesting setting, I just wish the author expanded on it.

Stop playing with my heart anon.

Well, not exactly. They figured out that the island they lived on was just a research facility for one of the factions that participated in a war on a different continent.
But all of that was essentially of no consequence to the plot.

There was a lot of world that barely been explored and only small details were ever divulged to the audience which was infuriating at times. But I understand the author wanted to explore the human relationships more than do a bunch of world building.
Would have been nice to nice the gang take a ship to the continent and kick ass and take names.

Would have been nice to see the*

The thing I like most about the setting was how the entire thing was just a weapons testing program on a small backwater island area.
Didn't the Claymores have SOMETHING SCARY on their chests (the Teresa episode in the anime)? Did the manga reveal what it was?

just terrible wounds from the surgery, I recall they never heal properly either so they look gruesome.
