It really was amazing seeing things from Bell's perspective, and having Aiz as some far away and somewhat cold figure.

But then you see things from her side and she can be just as flustered as him, and worry about silly shit too. The spin-off novels do a really good job of humanizing her, and showing that not everything revolves around Bell's misadventures.

It really is a shame they are removing all the Aiz POV when the whole point of this series was to see from her eyes.

Honestly, I would have been fine with a Lefiya POV, if it was like later in the season and only for an episode or two. But them starting off the bat with it is really jarring.

I was really hoping to see Aiz' backstory and shit animated. The manga is decent, but there were a few small things here and there that I thought would be nice to see in anime form. But I guess at this rate that shit won't be happening.

It's Japan, they are really big on the whole "tossing every mythology under the sun in one basket" type of setting.

Though honestly it does it slightly better than most. At least the author seems to have a better grasp on the myths than a good number of other authors I can think of.

My main issue is the random gender swaps for some of the gods. Like I get Loki since he was always a person who shifted between genders, but Hephaestus was pretty unnecessary.

There's Gods from every pantheon; Greek, Norse, Japanese, Hindu...
The mortal world is like a public playground for them.
All things considered, I don't even see them as the actual Gods we perceive them to be, just Gods that share the same name and nothing else, because lets be honest, Gods have pretty much sired more Gods and each pantheon has it's own families, in-laws and what have you, and yet there are no mentions of any familiality
I mean the pantheons and myths are a fucking mess of murder, deceit, fucking, cuckoldry, assholery, and just plain trolling; for God's sake according to norse myth the Gods made a wager with a a builder to build them a wall in exchange for Freyja but put ridiculous restrictions on him to make it impossible like having a time limit and to do it alone, but because of Loki he was allowed the help of his best horse, and that horse was so great that the Gods blamed Loki for causing the builder's success, so Loki, on threat of death, took to sabotaging his chances by shapeshift into a mare to get plowed by the mortal's prized horse, and then got pregnant. Odin fucking took the horse as his mount.
If I were to believe these are the exact same Gods, I can't really take half of them serious in the least.

Gods clearly know more about the dungeon than they let on. We know they had some sort of physical form in Tenkai because of the conversation between Loki and Freya about a clothing that Loki borrowed. So we know there is fashion of some form. In my opinion it's kind of interesting with an alternative view.
In Bell's series, you get the impression Loki's familia is super godly.

But then you get to this series, you realise their had to retreat because they got wrecked. One of their mages is a dumb rookie who somehow managed to become level 3, but she makes mistakes all over the place and can't even fire off a single spell.

If it wasn't because she can copy all sorts of mass AoE spells and be lucky with the kill count, she would probably still be level 1 or some shit like that.

I liked Sword Oratoria because it should the other side of Aiz. From Bell's point of view/ the audience from Danmachi she is distant. From Sword Oratoria we get to learn that she realizes she comes off as this distant, almost unapproachable person and tries to do something about that.

With this heavy focus on Lefiya we are missing the best part of this story.
