So let me tell you why I like Nadeko. Her character in general is meek and girly, while also a bit of seductive. I like it in her that she has eyes on an older guy (not her little fag classmates), and she knows how to get the attention of him, and despite her shy nature, she goes for it quite boldly. Add to that she has an ideal if very youthful body, and it's just that hotter.
Her biggest flow is though how she is actually pretty weak mentally, and it really shows when she victimizes herself instead of trying to go along with anything she does, like her advances on Araragi. She actually chooses the status quo instead of his love.
All of that peaks when she lets herself overtaken by the god, that brings all her negative traits out, hard.
Then again, it's an extreme situation, and having a weak character is something I find moe in her, not something to get upset about, as she never intended to act upon any ill intent when she was mentally stable.
And as far as her gimmicks go, I loved her retro silliness.

On the other hand, I never disliked Monkey herself. But like you said "she's like best bro", that's exactly how I feel about her. She's cool, but can't really look at her like a girl, she's one of the few dyke characters that actually acts like one would expect: masculine, aggressive, jokes around dirty.
She's ideal to hang out, but her girly level is pretty low.

And like I said, girliness is something of the most important appeals to me, so it's obvious who I like more between the two, be her character however flawed or weak.

There are a few that I dislike, or am at least disappointed in. Namely Hanekawa and Senjougahara. I blame Hanekawa more on Nisio than the character herself. There's just such a disconnect between what Nisio seems to be claiming is happening with her and how she acts. Meanwhile Senjougahara's tough facade has fallen away and we're left with a mildly shitty, insecure human who has a handful of good moments but is ultimately overshadowed by other characters and her own flaws.
