Koreans have normalized plastic surgery to the point where it's an acceptable birthday gift to a 16-18 year old girl to get jaw shaving an other shit. Barely because I didn't have to. What I did have under my belt at the time was literally the equivalent of pidgin English. Yes, I did work at an American company at the time called "Internal Horizons" that focused on helping people advance their already good English speaking/writing skills.
Never attended school since I was already happy with my degree that I earned in the US.

I watch a youtube who blogs from China and one of his videos he talked about an "english speaking bubble." Basically in any foreign country, there's a pocket of foreigners, americans. People spend more time with them because it's familiarity in a strange country, and especially when dealing with culture shock this is comforting. Some people however never brave away from that comforting bubble so they don't learn the language to the extent they could, they don't experience absolutely everything because they talk to other americans instead.

To be fair, foreigners in America do the same exact thing.
