It's also not good to rely on me for these cleans because for redrawing, I always do it after typesetting since it means I only have to redraw the stuff around the text and not everything that was originally covered by Japanese. I'm actually looking forward to seeing the artist's progress over time - reading Index and Railgun now makes me happy for Chuuya and Fuyukawa, seeing how much their styles have changed. Chuuya in particular has improved so much it's crazy. As for Fuyukawa, I can't decide. The backgrounds and characters have gotten much better, but he developed a bit of a sameface.

After Index was sent to analyze the tunnel, Touma helps Necessarius and Oriana Thomson catch New Light with their magic attache case, which delivers the sword to Carissa who secretly has her own attache case.

Volume ends with the Knights rising up against the Anglican Church and the rest of the royal family under Carissa.

Something that doesn't feel like filler. The dream ranker arc has been pretty mediocre all over. Rakko's stint was fun, Daihaisensai was great, it looked like we were going to do some side stuff to battle royale but never did, there's lots of characters to work with but we decided to make up a new one and focus on her for about a year now and steal Scavenger from Accel. It was doing fine before but it's in a lull right now and making Mikoto do things that outperform when she was going Level 5.2 to look cool isn't really helping much it's just flashy.

Another thing that annoys me about Dream Ranker was how it didn't deal with the actual story.

Side Kuroko deals with a parallel incident which seems to be connected with how Dream Ranker cards were made.
Side Ruiko shows an end-user POV of Dream Ranker cards (similar to Level Upper), but shifts quickly to Side Frenda, which is more connected to Battle Royale than the DR cards.
Side Mikoto is the closest to the story due to Kuriba being the creators of the cards, but her part of the story is also sidetracked by Side Doppelganger and the Artificial Soul Project.

Regardless of whether Kuriba dies or not, we will have to see Kuribot eventually. She already "uploaded" herself in a Dream Ranker card used by Mikoto once ala Yakumi Hisako. There's also the possibility where the lab that develops Shaei's precognition images are doing some shady shit of their own that's related to Dream Ranker technology.

Misaki was fine in Daihaisensai too. Hell even Kuroko got some good moments, the whole arc was decent and shows that if they felt like it they could most certainly do things like it to bridge the gap between WW3, they just fell flat this time maybe next time will be better. Mikoto didn't have to have anything to do with Battle Royale, Saten didn't either and we got Rakko, side stuff like that would have been fine. There was a literal boatload of mercs trying to get into AC that got mowed down, we could see any one of them in BLOCK, we could have seen Mugino or Kakine between scenes,after things have happened or what have you.

The key point was that she has the tools to create a warp drive. There are some theoretical ones being researched BUT since they're so fast the result is that whatever is between the object and the place it stopped is a giant pile of smashed atoms that explode the instant it stops. If any of those theories were to pan out in AC's timeline then Misaka (and probably AC's military) could actually have solar system destroying attacks.
